Engine mounts 12-14?

I searched to no wits end, and have literally found NO information on them. After two years of wheeling in this beast I have to beg the question. What's up with them? Are they finally reinforced and stout enough to handle what we can throw at them straight from the factory?

 

Have your motor mounts snapped off or something? I mean if they are fine then why worry?

 

I thought the engine mount issues were generally confined to the 05 and some 06 trucks

 

I worry because I mildly jump my truck and the last thing I want to deal with is a snapped mount at the frame. If they are good to go then fantastic, but if they are not then maybe I should worry enough to search for them.

From what I can see it's common with them, but I have seen some 07's and 09's still snapping them. It makes me wonder if ours (12-14) are any better.

 

If you plan on jumping your truck then I would think strongly about beefing up the frame.

 

Shock tower and spindle gussets with labor will cost you a fraction of the cost of a bent frame.

Yes, you can easily bend a shock tower from one easy jump if it's a hard impact.

 

I guess this one is too difficult to answer. I'll have to go out and look.

 

IDK how much effort Toyota is going to put into jump proofing their motor mounts

 

"Off-road proofing" I wheel hard and fast, I don't jump often.
