First of all, Hi. I'm new if you can't tell already. Just bought a 2010 Tacoma that's perfect and I can't say enough good things about her. The problem is I fell like I'm driving a rental because it just doesn't feel like mine yet. She's Pyrite Mica and I think she'll look good with black badges. So, I already searched about painting them and got a shit ton of really good information. But I want to start small with the front emblem and all the threads seemed to leave this one out. Particularly removing and reinstalling. So my question is two part:

How do I remove it without scratching ANYthing, and should i put 3M tape on the back when I put it on because right now it's jiggles. Thanks guys!

    Welcome to TW!

The front grill emblem snaps on. You can make it more sturdy, by applying some 3m double sided tape to it.

to remove: take your two index fingers and reach up (in the biggest openings) and you will feel two clips. pull down while pushing out towards you. It will fall with top falling first.

Let me think. Cuz I need the practice on my others anyways. Did you paint yours, or is it a black one? I've heard there are black ones from the factory but I asked my service/parts department and they said no. Is it flat or gloss?

Bump. I just bought a 2014 tacoma and want to paint the front emblem black. I tried this and could not feel any clips. Does anyone know how to remove a 2014 tacoma front emblem?

Same as the older models. They all just snap in.

Ok, I ended up popping the hood and could then unclip it pretty easily. It actually doesn't look half bad with no emblem. Still has the black outline. I'll probably plasti dip the emblem tomorrow and see how it looks.
