Eeh, wheel spin/gettin' it is all good. Especially if it's trailered/not a dd. Let the crowd know and stay uphill/behind something solid and have an escape route.

But if he was in the seat looking forward, the reaction to that skip to the right may have been quicker. Relative to all other factors. Instead of staying in it and probably tucking back inside.

And a helmet is there for objects making contact, not a collapsing roof.

Gotta learn a little bit all the time when given the opportunity.

I'm a slow crawler. Wheel spin is OK, but mashing on the gas when you're not going anywhere is silly and usually leads to accidents.

And I didn't say anything about helmets. I'd rather have a cage.

And I wouldn't do stuff that extreme with my DD. No thanks!

The mechanic I work with has one. We have a 55 gallon drum of methanol in the shop. It's very tempting to light some on fire lol

 

Mine did this a few weeks ago. Pull the plug by the blower motor under the dash and clean it. You will see one of the pins will be burned a bit, its from the heat.

 

Ok. I went to turn it on later yesterday and it worked again. Today it worked as well. Weird!

 

Mine did it on/off a few times for a month then never did it again so far. :knock on wood:

 

Be carefull with methanol, burns clear and is very hard to see unless it is burning something else.
I have been around it as a race fuel and it takes a spark or flame to ignite it, little safer that way than gas.

Seen indy car pit fires and guys are on fire jumping up and down and others do not see them burning to hit them with water.

 

Took me 3 hours to clean my house lol. Parents were gone that past 4 days, which was nice.

 

Anyone local and confident in working on IO set-ups? Or can anyone recommend a boat shop to do the work correctly that won't overcharge?

I have a Alpha One that I need to change the bellows/transom and gimble bearing while everything is apart. I have done some research and thought about doing it myself but I tend to get irritated very quickly PLUS I don't want to be responsible for sinking my boat LMAO

So I called a few shops, it seems like the smaller business (as always) are more reasonably priced.

A larger shop, the math just didn't add up...
Shop rate $105/hr - Bellow job 5-6 hr by the book
Parts lets say high side of $200
Got quoted $1,200....
My math puts me at just shy of $850 without $20 tax.....where is the additional $350 coming from?!?

 

I'm not gonna be part of the pit crew for the sprint cars. I wouldn't know where to start on one of those lol. My buddy and I are probably just gonna get a bomber and screw around in the beginner class

 

Are ucas a fairly easy job to do on your own? I'm getting a lot of popping and its getting bad.

 

Yes, but if its popping bad double check that everything is tight
