Any HVAC guys on here. I have some
Questions. If I have a carrier coil already installed do I have to do
    A carrier unit?

No you're not an HVAC guy or no I don't have to match my coil and unit with the same brand? I get a good deal on a non carrier unit, and my coil and furnace is a carrier, thats the only reason I ask.

no need to match condenser with coil. Is your lineset already ran?

You do want to match the rating of the condenser (tons) with the size of your coil and load (square footage).

Too little and it won't cool your house, too large and it will freeze the coil and not cool your house.

Yeah I had the coil and line set ran when I built the house. I just need a 2.5 ton unit. I get a deal on certain ones and carrier isn't one of them. At least that's what the builder said to
Use was a 2.5 ton. Stand by for the specs on the one the builder uses.

Do you also have a dedicated 220v circuit ran to where the lineset exits the house?

Looks good to go if that electrical box isn't empty and your lineset isn't too short.

I'd take a hose and soak the area where you plan to put the condenser. I can't tell you how many times I've seen condensers hanging off the house over a big sink hole.

Houses are built too fast and the basement concrete is too green to compact the dirt fully around the foundation so lots of times you'll get sink holes around the foundation.

***I'm sure this is entertaining as hell for everyone but you and me..... but feel free to call me if you want.

Yeah I think I might pour a concrete platform too. Hopefully does not cost an arm and a leg to get hooked up.
