I was planning on visiting my family over the 4th out over by Austin TX...747 miles on I-10 all the way there

 

Anyone have any ideas for mounting the Hi Lift to a bar/tube without buying one of those expensive bar mounts? Thinking of fabbing something for it, just not sure what yet. I have my bed bars sitting in my garage and thought I could use on of them right near the tool box to mount it.

 

I just notch tube to fit on the bed bar with a bolt welded on the back off a washer

 

Jason I still got that bed mount tire holder thing from Wes.

 

That's been on my truck before, wasn't really my style. But Eddy's idea is a pretty good one, except the fact i don't have a welder. Might measure the tube i have and swing by Lowes and walk around for a bit to see if i can cone up with something creative.

 

What about PVC

I believe PVC would snap. Hi lifts are heavy

 

I already have bed bars that I made last year I think that I don't use. But thought that one of them just in front of my tool box would make for a good mount. We shall see. I will likely try to mount the bar itself tomorrow, then look for something to make a hi lift mount out of.

 

Here's the post with the bars I have. I will remove the bike mount. And also considering trying to mount the brackets to the bottom of the cleats instead of on top to lower the bar a bit.

Get a 4xrac off eBay. It's cheap and easy and stays on.

 

But that wont work for tube mount

 

It's possible but a piece of 2inch would probably work
