Glad I ran into you too! I only saw the moose and a handful of deer up there but I want to go back! Such a pretty area. It was so hard leaving on Sunday - I wanted more time to explore and hang out with the mooses!

Not in WY but...Taco & flowers...

I was there too! That was about as far as I ventured too, needed more time!

I think the guy in the very back on the left was maybe my guy...could you tell if his left ear was chewed up a bit?

A few pics from my weekend....
4th of July and I can still get into snow....
Friday night's camp spot. Wasn't my 1st choice but it worked OK and I had a cow moose and calf wander by just before dark
    [IMG]
Saturday's camp spot. Nothing wrong with my campfire...I wanted it extra smoky to help ward off the mosquitoes!
    Another view of camp...
And the view from my tent...

I thought I recognized that view from your picture! I was there for 10 days / 9 nights and felt the same way - needed more time there.

Monday of that week I got out early and was glassing a bunch of elk. Out of the corner of my eye I spotted a bear running into some aspens. I moved the glass to watch that area and saw him/her take down a calf elk. I was so stunned to see it I didn't set up my camera for a few minutes. I did get about 5 minutes of the bear feeding and then dragging the calf out into the open. The bear got scared off by something in the treeline. Possibly a larger bear. I waited about 45 minutes but nothing came back out. I left the area for about an hour and came back. The calf was still laying there. I left again for about 30 minutes and when I returned this time the calf had been drug into the treeline. I was barely able to see it.

It was amazing to witness that circle of life! Everything is linked together. The elk eat the grasses. Mosquitos feed on the elk. Birds feed on the mosquitos. Bobcats feed on the birds. Just like the bear fed on the calf. I haven't posted the video anywhere yet. Some folks get upset over seeing things like this. It's not gory. It's far enough away that there is hardly any blood visible. It was great to be able to watch it. I bumped into a WY CO the next day and showed it to him. He watched it 3 times. He was really interested in seeing how the bear fed. Can't wait to go back. Right now I'm planning on going the 2nd week of September when the bull elk and moose are in rut. Some spectacular viewing then.

Almost made this home for 11 days. Working nights means the sun would cook me in the tent during the afternoons while I sleep though.
