That's my guess! And their army of lifeguards. We have pretty much weekly close-calls to drownings. It takes a good force to keep an eye on everyone.

Managed to get to SPI today. Bit of seaweed still left but the scent was already gone.
Might just need to hope that the 26th is a pretty day like this one!

I'm considering this trip and I've never been to SPI.
I see at least two from Houston possibly going, anymore?
I would be sleeping on the beach and wanting to do some surf fishing.
Do any of the members do this or do ya'll just hang out?

I'll be surf fishing and more than likely pitching a tent.

Maybe about 3-4 miles. I don't really remember the distance, last time I went was last years meet. I should remember though since I'm from the valley! :cookiemonster:

ha ha funny because ive been trying to make this for 2 years too and this year my Vacay dates are also from 19th to 27th going to FL.

I was in SPI last year July 4th weekend with family and had NO idea this was happening while I was there.

    Houston Group.
Lets try to get something worked out so we can have a small convoy
    to travel down there together.
Maybe we can all meet up on 59S somewhere out of town early morning on the 25th.
I don't have a cruise control so I'd have to pull rocking chair or backdoor duty.
PM me a phone number if you'd like.

That's all? I was thinking clear to Mansfield Channel if it was safe and fuel allowed.

Hell last summer I made it 8 miles down North Padre Island on my streetbike during high tide.

    (pics or it didn't happen)

I'm 95% sure I'll be attending this year. Just bought a Taco a week ago. I'll be coming from College Station. I'm down to pitch a tent and sleep on the beach. I've got a little propane grill I will bring for whatever meats people have. I would also love to try and make it to the Mansfield Channel and back. Who's with me?

Heck, down that far one could even let loose with ak's and M4's...if one was so inclined.
    Cough.
