TRD versus SR5 coils...

    i know the TRD's are progressive, but is there much difference between the two ride wise if they are not preloaded at all?

    i have a set of 5100s and am looking at getting some camburg spindles. i would set the shocks for no lift and want to know the ride difference between the two.

    let me know what you guys think and if you have any experience w/ them...thanks

    Bone stock
    There is more body roll in the SR5's than in the TRD's, but the TRD's don't seem to suffer a stiffer ride in spite of that. They are a better spring.

    The TRD offroad springs are progressive...The TRD Sport are not. The TRD offroad also has a 1mm smaller sway bar than the Sport. The SR5 is a trim package...no real affect on the springs...if you have a Non-trd SR5 it just had the base springs.

    Honestly, I cant say I noticed much of a difference with the TRD Off-Road springs vs the stock springs that came on my sr5 prerunner. About the only time you really feel the difference is when you have a fairly hard hit. FWIW, the sway bar has been off for quite some time.

    o wow I didnt know there was a diff, glad I got the off-road, that is if progressive is a good thing?

    good to know, i thought both the offroad and the sport had the progressive springs, i thought the SR5 and base had a standard spring...good info, thanks!

    Progressive springs are coiled closer at the top (in this case) to provide increasing resistance to travel as they compress. It's made to resist more when off roading. They also are "stronger" spring which can provide a less forgiving ride...

    I don't think they are better or worse...just different...with different goals in mind...
