7000 grand to fix the trans?? i'm like holly sittt! what broke?

now as to nomads who in our age group fails to like that cool look they had along with the almost like look of the 57/58? Pontiac safari
there was one there for the car show section of nostalgia weekend a 58 with factory Pontiac ram jet fuel injection like chevy had. that alone is one very rare item to find.

island runs the nostalgia show 2 times a year .the track alone is a time trip. with it still looking as it did when it opened in 1960 big daddy will be there over the weekend of aug 1st the very weekend that 50 years ago he broke the 200 mph mark with a 201.34 at 7.78 seconds. on aug 2nd 1964 http://www.islanddragway.com/index....h-anniversary-weekend?Itemid=1&filter_reset=1

The trans does not have the ability to be fluid checked. The housing is a flipped vw bug housing. Full synchro less hillbrin (sp) gears.
They didn't use enough oil in the setup. Burned the entire thing up.
So before we take it back they need to have the ability to check the fluid.
Just the tip of the iceberg. Brake bias 180 reversed. Bad master cyl. List goes on.
Non level check is normal for this setup. WTF. I check fluids before each race.
It only takes once for this to happen. Not going to happen to us again.
They have to figure it out.
