What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Ground speed doesn't mean dick. Ever notice on dyno sheets how the only scale is RPM related to hp/tq.

 

My driveway's asphalt is black, oil is brown-black. Both are petroleum based. Seems to me they are a perfect match for each other...

 

prolongs the life of your driveway.

just like the oil on the frame acts as a rust inhibitor

 

I really like their rear bumpers but they wanted an absurd amount to ship it so it completely killed the good price of their bumpers. I dont get why it has to ship freight, all pro didn't ship my front freight.

ended up going with a relentless DIY kit that should be here soon.

cant wait to see it on.

^ id like to see a dyno chart on it, especially for the newer (01-04) 3rz with the better oem exhaust mani.

Yeah, it has 2 sleeves. One sleeve lives out near the hook end of the rope but can slide around as needed for protection from rocks and stumps and roots and whatnot. The other sleeve covers the rope that wraps the drum, the first layer of wraps and acts as a heat shield of sorts to protect the rope from heat degradation.

 

Which brand did you get? Curious because my Warn only came with the tree saver sleeve.

 

Funny, I don't see the port for the EGR tube. How can it be CA legal?

 

The original rope and sleeves were from a smittybilt xrc8 comp. I put that rope and sleeves on the newer SB X20 10K and now just recently, upgraded the rope, reusing the sleeves.

 

Interesting. I should've taken more pictures of mine. I think the first bit of drum-end of the line were a different weave or thickness on the Spydura, possibly accomplishing the same thing

 

I've been running this with my 2rz motor for the last 3 years. Smog guy trips balls every time I take the truck in. You get a decent pull at the 2k mark and feel awesome at top. Block off the EGR if you have one and run a 10k resistor at the egr temp sensor. I only say this because the egr flanges with the headers don't line up too well on mine. No power added for egr delete just not dealing with blowing out gaskets at the headers.

 

Good to know. I'm curious if using some exhaust wrap directly on the drum would achieve the same effect.

 

It should. No way that drum gets as hot as that stuff was designed for.
