just to throw some fuel on the engine fire......Consider the 8.1L Gm engine puts out (stock) 330 hp, and 440 ft-lbs torque. The AMG CLA45 2.0L puts out 360 hp, and around 335 ft-lbs torque. Down on torque, Yup........but 1/4 the displacement. :)

I'll give you that, but its impressive power given its size.

Weren't we talking about a 700 HP MOPAR product, and not starting the whole NASCAR vs F1 boondoggle of an arguement? To each his own, NASCAR is beginning a long anticipated regression because it grew so fast in the 2000's that the hype/advertisers out ran the real support for it's product. F1 is not a big deal in North America, but neither is soccer and that's the most widely played game in the world. F1 has it's international support and isn't targeting the US market at this time.

Oh, and drag strips are the everyday mans racing. Most people car drive a car in a straight line and the fun is learning how to shift. I don't knock it just because I'm not into it.

    Tell that to Austin TX.

F1 is a international sport with the best drivers driving the best cars in the world.

I never knocked it. I could see the appeal. I mentioned my preference which happens to have corners as I think that is the true test of a driver and a all around test of a vehicle.

The Mopar, although has impressive power, is still a sub-par car in my opinion compared to other cars in it's price range. Just because a car can bark loudly doesn't make it amazing. JMO.

The vehicle I was talking about was the Street Rod Corvette posted earlier going around a track. I would love to see that.

Once again, I would also love to see the 700 HP Mopar go around the Ring and beat a Z06 707 package with no tweaks. Similar priced cars but one is better. I'll let you be the judge as to which is more important to you.

Straight line acceleration doesn't impress me that much. The total driving experience does.

All kidding aside, If that 700 HP Mopar can go around a track and beat a Corvette I'll be impressed. Until then.... Nope... not my style.

"Stomped"......Not always. To add, the cars they run, are pretty modded cars. Crate engines, top shelf suspension and brakes. The imports are modded, but not as much. Mostly bolt on goodies.

And....in this case, an Audi wagon beat all 3 of them.

I don't think anyone said it was. However, the Challenger platform isn't known in the auto world as being a great handling, and cornering car. Its a great looking car, IMHO, and one of my fav's. I have a couple friends with them, and they're nice. But if the road gets twisty, it needs a lot of work to get it to handle good.

Mmmmm Hmmmm... I'm sure that was a actual F1 driver. Better come up with something better than that.

Have the same race with the same cars and have Louis Hamilton in the F1 car and we'll see which one makes it around the track first.
