Did you call customer service? They were awesome when I dealt with them.

    This is mine.

The adhesive on the front strip failed to cure properly on mine, so it was going "whap whap whap whapping" against the back glass for about 20 miles down the interstate, until I got to a town with a hardware store.

I clamped it down with some Vise grips, but haven't gotten around to anything more permanent quite yet.

It took about 3 lackadaisical hours,(including a couple of longish iced tea breaks) and one of the bolts sheared. Otherwise, uneventful.

Clamp a piece of aluminum angle across the front window. It will come loose again if nothing holds it in place.

I've only emailed so far..... They replied to the first email within a day but as soon as I asked for the part number no response. I'm going to call in the morning. I've heard they have great customer service which is half the reason I went with the bestop.

With that I guess I should post a few pics of mine....

Bad-azz rig, love the blacked out look! :woot: Have you considered the smoked rear tails? I think I picked mine up for $150 or so.

I did it myself in about 2 hours with basic tools. Very straight forward even though when you open the box it looks a bit overwhelming. Piece of cake.

Thanks! I've been looking at the black tails and like the looks..... I contemplated tinting the stocks but in the end it's not really my style. I've also been thinking about building some custom fiberglass tails that will be flush and clean. Not sure which way to go yet.

I love my DEPO black LED rear tail lights, and they were less than $150. If you fab something on your own, take lots of pics of the build and definitely share before and after shots! :)

You're tempting me to start building some tails....even thought the wife will hate me again  Love the look and color of your truck, I had that color on order and when they told me the month wait I got impatient and went black. Very nice looking rig!

That's a great idea. You can get through aluminum with a hack saw or a circular with the right blade, right? Or does it need to be a miter saw?

With a leather apron and a full face shield, of course...

I found a piece of 3' at lowes that worked well. I think it was 1.5"x1.5"x3'. If you need to cut, any saw with a metal or aluminum blade will work (sawzall, jigsaw, miter chop saw etc.

Hey ya'll everything in here looks nice... didnt even know this thread existed until a few minutes ago haha

Question - Got the best top about 2months ago, love it. But, has anyone had any problem with the tailgate cover bar not fitting right? Im not sure if im doing anything wrong or what, but I have to basically close it with a gap in it. It doesnt shut properly and only shut well when I had the whole truck packed up moving from NM to Jersey and it was literally stuffed..

Stupid question, and don't take it the wrong way: did you put the bar on the right way?

Yeah that was my thought awhile back and I've switched it around, a lot... one side will fit in just right while the other doesnt fit... It's mind bottling

have any of you guys waterproofed your bestops? I'm considering doing mine this weekend. Just wasn't sure if there's certain products that should be used above others.
