    Hey Peter...

Heres the video i told you i made...took me literally 2 minutes. Longest part was the upload to Youtube...Never used GoPro Studio before, but its awesome. Just messing around here. I'm sure I could have made it look way better. Just wanted you to see the difference.

Yeah. There's actually a lot you can do with their simple program. Kinda impressive for something that's free.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all of your help with the go pro. I learned a lot between what I've read & your help! :yay:

Now, let me explain what happened in that video.

I decided to try out the go pro so I drove on an 8 mile gravel road that parallels Tamiami Trail from Miccosukee Bingo to the Flight 592 memorial.

I was driving up & down between the lower & higher roads. I then start speeding up & look to my left. I see a Maxima driving on Tamiami Trail at the same speed as me. So, I look at my speedometer & I was doing 55MPH. Then I looked up & saw that the fravel road curved & dipped to the left & then up. Plus, the pole in front of me. I'm very happy that I reacted good. I braked & steered to the left slightly but I didn't slam the brakes because I would have skidded into the pole. You can see where the rear of the truck fishtailed towards the right slightly. I don't know how I didn't scream but I felt a chill going down my back.

I'm sure my face looked like this

    Very foolish on my part.

    Here's a 1 minute I-phone video of the Memorial:

    Hello PMK,

I'm very happy with the Spindles. It's something that I'll miss if or when I do go to 4WD. I'll post more in a few minutes.

No problem. Ordering a new mount right now. It's an extension arm that I can adjust accordingly. Hopefully gonna be able to get some cool shots of the trucks next time we go out.

    PMK,
I thought I had some pics but I can't find them. After I wash my truck tomorrow I'll take some pics. I'll put the truck on the lift to get some good pics for you.

    Here you go PMK:

    275/70r17 BFG A/T's (eventually going to 285/70's).

Spider Trax Black Wheel Spacers (from Wheelers Off-Road) installed on the rear to closely match the wider stance that the spindles provide up front.

Paul, my FJ Cruiser wheels have .75"'s more of offset than your Tacoma TRD Sport wheels. In your case you HAVE to use Spacers up front. You already have them on all 4 wheels so your front will have a wider stance than the back. You may or may not mind this. Look at the last 2 pics & you'll see that there is a 1/2" of space between the Spindle & the wheel.

    FRONT:
    OEM PreRunner coils,
    5100's @ .85,
    MaxTrac Spindles,
    1/4" Taco lean spacer.
ground to fender base: LF & RF: 40"'s
hub to fender base::::: LF & RF: 25"'s

    REAR:
    2012 OEM 3/1 leafs,
    Wheelers 3 leaf AAL,
    2" Tapered steel block.
    Bilstein F4-BE5-B110-T5
ground to fender base: LR & RR: 41"'s
hub to fender base::::: LR & RR: 26"'s

    I'M VERY HAPPY WITH THEM!

    Tac, correct me if wrong

    SPECIFICATIONS

    • Wheel Fitment:

17" Minimum Wheel w/ 4.75" Max Backspacing or less
Will Clear up to a 33" tire
+0.75" Track Width increase per side

    TRD Sport rims

    17 x 7.5"
    +30mm offset
    5.5 backspacing

So with no spacer, I will have a 3/4" collision of spindle to rim. So the 1.25 SpiderTracs will offer the 1/2" clearance you have. 5.5-1.25= 4.25" back spacing.

    4.75 max -4.25 actual should yield 1/2".

Downside becomes, this brings the total tread width increase from oem to add 4" or 2" per side. Spindle adds .75 + 1.25 spacer = 2" per side, 4" total.

Oh boy. Got to think this over.

    Thanks
    PK

The way tou are describing it, it would be like running a -12 offset rim on a stock setup in terms of width. -12 rims add 1.7" per side. For a total of 3.4" total. -0 offset (like mine) run more flush to the fender.

Yes. That's one of the reasons why I like my FJ Wheels. Unfortunately with the TED wheels you have to run front spacers so not only are you adding much more front track width, you will also have the fronts track width wirer than the rear.
