    Might look good on the lid but then you'd have to worry about leaks & the possibility of the jack hitting the back window when you open it.

    My fear is that it would cave in the lid. Plus then the lift support wouldn't be strong enough. If my idea doesn't work, I will think of something else. But I think a piece of sheet metal about 3 inches wide connected to both bars using U-Bolts will work and make it nice and strong.

    AEdit: Actually with this idea, I could use those 4xrac mounts Wes recommended on the sheet metal cross piece. Hmmmm

    Wouldn't fit there. In it's current location it is partially in the passenger side cubby. It is too wide for that.

    It really doesn't take up too much space. Plus I rarely carry anything back there that's tall enough to touch it. As for the scrap, I wish you were closer, I would take you up on the offer in a heart beat. Trying to come up with something before the meet Sunday.
