Long time no talk...

Anyways. Couple of days ago my AC stopped blowing cold. Took it to the dealer (Daytona Toyota) today to have the 15k maintenance done and have the A/C looked at. Just got a call from the dealer saying "Hey did the A/C stop working when you had it out mudding?? Because it looks like a rock punched a hole in the condensor" (in a fairly condescending manner) and this was curious to me, because I haven't had it "out mudding" yet, being the most "offroad" this truck has seen has been some dirt roads looking at houses with a friend.

So per "Jason McEvers" at Daytona Toyota it would be $12xx to repair it. Not covered by warranty because it was caused by outside damage.

Opinions? Tips? Insight anyone?

 

This shit never happened with my first gen

This fucking thing is cursed. Got hit in a parking lot somewhere by a phantom driver, has damage to the right rear rocker panels, now this shit....FUUU

 

If a rock hit it, then they are correct. If its that much, i have seen people claim it on their insurance and just pay the deductible.

 

yeah, I don't doubt that is what is going on. Just wanted some more insight. I am considering the insurance option.

 

I am going to take it to a guy that does my dad's work and get a 2nd opinion just in case.

 

Jason, have you heard of the "zero point calibration" on the t4r?

 

Yup. We have that on most of our cars since probably '05 or so. Can be either airbags related or ABS. Think there are a fee other systems too.

 

Couple of the fingers on my clutch broke good thing I'm changing it

 

Jason, can you just use the mounts to mount the hi lift to your toolbox like I did mine? Not sure what size I have.
