Mine won't sit down far enough to make contact with anything. But I have seen some that way, just need a skid down there.

Rylee has the cleanest looking inset tire in my opinion.

Yeah, the 35" tire fits nicely in there with room to spare. :)

yeah that's what i figured haha. i can't decide if i want spares or a fuel cell in the spot you're talking about. im trying to figure out a way to keep the bed still functional with 2 spares and a fuel cell.

Mine is that low on my 2nd gen. I have a skid just below the tire and it hasn't seen a scratch. Even when I was rolling around almost on my bumps.

SDHQ for sure. Kartek is kind of old fashioned and has a pricing structure that's antiquated. I used to go to their store all the time, and it seemed like the prices changed depending on who was working. If you are buying stuff for a race team, kartek is super cheap....if you are buying for yourself...retail +10%. SDHQ also has awesome customer service, decent prices, fast shipping, and they are on TW all the time answering our stoopid questions.

Does anyone have pictures of a fabricated rear cross member? I figured I'd check in the LT thread since you guys tend to hack things up more than others.

I'm planning a flat bed build and want to remove the rear cross member so I can bring the CG down a little bit. I'll be placing a jobox and auxiliary fuel and water tanks under the deck and the center cross member sits too high. Any pictures of custom cross braces will be appreciated. Just trying to get some ideas.

I just cut it out and put a piece of 2"x3" tubing at the back of my towers. Then just plated and boxed in the frame. My bumper is sturdy enough it should hold the rear just fine.

I will let other post their custom crossmembers but I will share that you need to tack weld a tube, keep your frame towing hitch on or do something to stabilize your rear frame section as you build your new crossmember.

When we did a custom crossmember on my old truck we could move the ends of the frame with out hands. That's how flimsy the stock frame is.

Box the frame and build your crossmember at the same time and you should be set.
