I took a few classes at ulowell when I started working for my company . Most of my time was spent in there machine shop playing on a Bridgeport .
Good luck . Get that education you need it now a days to get a good job.

 

I looked at u lowell for undergrad. I didnt like how the campus was split up accross the river. As an engineering major, you would have classes on both sides.

 

Didn't know they had a shop here! Good to know haha

I like the campus so far. Just hate the FUCKING MORON DRIVERS AROUND HERE!!!

 

It's not very big but they have a hand full of bridge ports some lathes and other machines . That was about 8 years ago so they may have more stuff now .

 

They have a ton of cool shit in the engineering buildings. They used to test balls and bats for MLB. They had a machine set up to swing a bat and smash baseballs into a net all day.

 

It would be cool if they had a lathe there that I could turn my body lift spacers on...

Here's what I tell all of the summer interns that my workplace has: Get your degree and then go out and get a job with the federal government - one that has an in service requirement of 20 years. Then retire with full bennies (medical is what's important) and do what you really like. Don't be like us saps that work in the private sector having to fund our own 401K and have medicare for retirement medical (I hope)...

Oh, one more thing... At them there college parties, be the guy that tends the keg. He's the most popular guy there and is never too far away from the drink...
