What have you done to your Tacoma today? 1st Gen Edition

Well it was time to get some new tires My current BFG T/A KO's 265/75/16 had 40,000+ miles or what ever equals 5 1/2 years lol!!! wanted to go BIGGER and read a lot of threads about chopping and the BFH mod I wanted to go 33x12.50r15 but, I knew I would definitely have to do some to the inner plastic. So I decided to go with 285/75/16 and keep my current rims and save some $$$$. I did not have to cut anything yeah it does rub the mud flaps but nothing serious to have them removed as you will see in the pic's. I snapped a couple of quick picks because of the rain. Oh yeah I decided to go with the Goodyear Duratrac's 285/75/16 and it actually measures as a 33' inch tire . these tires rock besides the slight hum on the pavement so far so good.

What lift are you running?

 

have you tried them out at full flex yet?

 

Guys are going to hate me for thisbut, it's a simple revetek spacer kit with OME 880 coils and bilstein 5100's all around. Nothing fancy I want to upgrade to icons some day but, here in south Florida especially where I live it's only mud and rain so it's dong it's job for now.

 

Kind of hard to flex in South Florida when everything is flat maybe I will flex on a small wall of something hopefully all this rain stops

 

Nothing to hate. It works for you and you're running 33's.

 

Yeah, 33's rock I can tell their heavier than my 265's nothing major.

 

10,000 mile service
Oil change (Mobil 1)
State inspection ....

Failed state inspection due to wheel spacers - 1"
Took spacers off
Passed Inspection
Went home put spacers back on ...
Trimmed 4 1/4" off the mud flaps while I was at it
Very Exciting

I could think of a lot better things to thank God for Everyday .... But Hey ...
Maybe that's a good thing to be thankful for , small worrys !

I only have to do it once a year .... One time too many !
I had it done at the Dealer .... They follow the law to a T ... and the tech has to protect his job ... Understandable
The free service and inspection , somehow cost me $84.00 .... ?
And the Hassle of doing those spacers in 90 deg. Humid weather ....
Next year .... Next time I'll go to my regular mechanic ... things will be better and Cheaper : )

Quick question, 4" backspace is preferable on 285/75/16 right? Running 883 coils up front.

I hope so because I may have just ordered some new wheels.

Did you just order the Wheelers sale? I'm seriously debating between wheels and a SOS Bed Bar/Tire Carrier.

Edit: And yes, the 4" backspacing is good.

LOL. I didn't see that but the main leaf is bent at the front hanger.

 

lol, still broken leaf springs? i have some oem ones if you want. need new center bolt tho, since i took the AAL off and gave it to my friend.
