Ordered a aeroturbine exhaust kit yesterday! can't wait to install it. anyone know how hard it would be or exactly what tools it takes to install?

 

any welding? or is it all hanging? something like that Id say go to a shop they'll weld and test it

Looks like you just take the old one off and bolt the new one on.

 

yeah thats the one, just not to sure about the bolts with the coil on them. last question anyone know what the torque specs are on the the bolts or is tight, tight enough?

 

just a bolt in kit, hard part would be the bolts with the coil on them and getting everything off the hangers

 

I'd just weld the hangers to the exhaust

 

well i guess I'm taking it to a shop then haha

Edit: looks like in the picture all new hangers are already welded to it. ill give it a look when it arrives and decided whether or not to take it to a shop.

 

Looks like a simple bolt and clamp kit. The best I can do is the torque for the flangeby guessing it would be close to what is in my 2003 FSM. You may need a new exhaust gasket but most likely can re-use the old one. The clamps are "get them as tight as possible". On my magnaflow, I use an 18" breaker bar and I've been known to bench 315. They have still leaked here and there, solved by retightening. Otherwise, just get the clamped joints welded.

 

I'd be interested in hearing the full exhaust from them. I just swapped in a 2525 muffler with my stock piping and I kinda hate the way it sounds. Sounds REALLY good below 2000 RPM, but then sounds like a shitty fart cannon honda above 2000 RPM.

 

Makes me glad I have a welder. All the times I've changed my exhaust around would've cost me a pretty penny if I took it to a shop. Also make me wish I was a bit closer to everyone on the board.

Well the rover is really coming together... New high performance 4.6L engine is in, and started on the cosmetic repairs. Just finished choping/painting the front bumper, installed the brush guard and 7" HID off-road lights. Tomorrow I'll put on the new bed lined hood and start replacing the cracked interior parts. What do you guys think?
