how often are you dudes getting your tires re-balanced? every 5000 with a rotation?

 

Only when i throw a weight. Or feel a shake. I rotate every 3k miles.

 

gotcha...I was told to do every 3000 as well...I missed that memo

 

Next time you balance if your running stock 2nd Gen wheels make sure they have the correct cones to balance them. Also instead of using weights have them put balancing beads inside the tire.

 

I've heard of the beads...just never tried them. I know Mr. Grimm uses the beads as well. I went 20,000 on my MT/Rs without balancing (yes I should have known better) they were off pretty bad. Learned my lesson about getting a proper balance.

 

I've never tried the beads but i keep hearing about them. I plan on getting new wheels next spring and i guess i'll have to try the beads

 

I've only rebalanced my tires once so far and that was after moab, all four tires were out almost an ounce... I did feel a vibe tho so i knew i needed to get them balanced. I'll just drive them until they feel that way again.

 

Theororedicly with beads you shouldn't need to re-balance.

 

How are yours working out steve? How is it at low speed?

 

Hmmm... I should look into throwing beads in my front tires. They got hammered in Moab when my steering rack got jacked up and FUBAR'd my toe...

 

I've only had them on a month but so far so good.

Marc, did your Kings come with tags that said right and left? I did not realize they would be side specific. In fact, I've never heard of that before.

It must be for something that isn't obvious. Valving?? But that doesn't make sense either. You've never heard of this before either?

Visually they are identical. Same amount of pre-load and same overall length.

Mike!! So clean Mine did come with left and right since the reservoir elbows were turned to be side specific but since you dont have resis i'm not sure why they'd be side specific...

 

That is the only thing that makes sense. DSM put the coils om and of course the top bolt holes and the bottom bolt hole line up perfectly. Even the code on the coils and the nitro valve are positioned identically from side to side.

Maybe that is all it is.
