asphalt paint on car!

my fiance ran over some fresh paint today on the interstate, on her way to work! does anyone know how i could get this off of the car without paying a butt load of money? i can take pix tomorrow, thanks for the help!

 

goof off ... thats all i can think of.

 

maybe brake cleaner or wd40 or power steering fluid

 

Just dont let it sit for a long time... It gets harder to get off

 

I heard clay barring the car will work, double check tho

 

on this stuff, either or, will it harm the factory paint any?

ill have to do a search on clay barring, i never heard of it.

If you use those chemicals... make sure IF it comes off to wash off immidately and then put on a coat of wax in that area and you will be fine.

Clay bar will do nothing to the paint. Clay bar is only for impurities in the paint.

Clay bar might make it tougher to get off

 

i have used all the above on a white car....clay bar is prob the most safe when used correct...but if your really unsure take it to a detailer and have them do it

 

If you have fresh wax on the truck, try spray detailer and a plastic putty knife. Depending how thick it is, it may come right off. The detailer will work as a lubricant for the putty knife. You might stop by a body and fender shop and ask them what would be safe to use on your paint to try and remove the traffic paint.
