Crap, almost nothing (real work-wise) to do tonight; cargo on hand is HAZ incompatible with the thru-load cargo on the one mission departing in the morning. That's the AF airlift biz ... feast or famine.

Need to get a few cups of coffee in me in preparation for completing another "riveting" AF WBT.

What's happening?

 

Got the mirrors mounted, directionals working, relay for the heat is done to the mirrors, all that's left is the timer switch They sure expand your view and I find myself "leaning" away from oncoming traffic

 

It took a couple days for me to get used to them. But now I love the expanded view and find them a great improvement over the stock mirrors, towing especially, but day to day as well. I just have to remind myself to allow for the extra lateral overhang at drive thru windows and when pulling up to the guards at the base gate. Almost whacked the guard the first time I pulled up to the gate after install.

 

Yeah, backing up at night you can see alot better. Starting to get used to the convex mirrors as well

 

Finally finished installing the swing out on my rear bumper. Time to get offroad.

Good, but the night's draggin'. Did my WBT, listed course length 1.5 hrs -- took me about 15 mins to score 100%. What moron estimated 1.5 hrs. Pay me no mind, I'm just reinforcing my "grumpy old man" persona.

Looks great How much weight can it support when it's swung out?

 

Nice bumper! I just got my truck back on 4 wheels

 

im not really sure but im assuming quite a bit as many guys get this same bumper with the mounts for jerry cans or rotopax. its also popular to mount the hi-lift jacks aswell. Alll of those things are quite heavy so..... the hinge uses wheel roller bearings.

Replaced lca's, cv's, driver side hub/bearing, redo the seal on my rear axle, and still need to have someone look at a bad lifter I might have. Also got an alignment

I'm loading the truck and heading north towards michigan. Gonna check out the hot amish woman in shipshiwana. lol.
But really......just gonna bum around at some of the small lakes and check out some hand built amish furniture.
