No, an annuity works with a one time payment from you. You pay a one time payment of say $100000. Then the money starts earning interest. it can be tied to the stock market but you can get guaranteed returns. So if the stock market has a -20% return you still earn like 2-3% depending on the annuity. Then you can continue paying into it for a couple years or not.

After a couple of years you can choose to get your payments (most people wait till retirement). So you would start to receive monthly payments. The payments are you receiving your money back along with the interest. If you die before receiving all your money it goes to your beneficiaries

So.... im going to give you money for you to hold for me? Then you give me my money back later? What if your company does bankrupt and runs with my money?

Well, you're earning interest on it at the same time so youre money isnt just sitting. the benefit is with some annuities you cant ever lose money as you could with the stock market.

Your money is also back by the Gov't so that doesnt happen. But the companies I work with have all been around for many years.

I have a sweet accident policy thru Aflac. Every time I go to the ER they give me $250. I get $500 once each year if I get a MRI or CAT scan. And then I also get money for short term and long term disability. It only cost me $25 a month.

I tend to do stupid things like cut myself really bad or hit my head on something that sends me to the ER every few months so this policy pays for itself over and over

I got a good deal on it from Aflac because my last company had a special small business account set up thru Aflac. They let me keep my plan when I left my company.

Having an accident plan is worth it. I got into a bad car wreck about 4 years ago and I didn't lose any money from lose of work or extra bills. Aflac took good care of me.

going through a company or on your own? you will get very different answers depending on how people have theirs.

i get mine through my company meaning they pay most of it. only $8 a week, and a next-to-nothing copay.

Just messing with you, actually couldn't care less if it was work related or not. If you ask something and I don't wanna answer, I won't. One of the few pleasures of the Interwebz, silence is an opinion.

My plan is really designed for someone who never goes to the doc. For me the baby and his mother I pay about 60 a month and the plan starts with a $250 health spending account that will pay for dr visits after that I have a deductible of about 5k...
was there any thing about pre existing conditions? I have a hip problem that's getting worse and I would like to get it taken care but I'm afraid if I do I'll be out of commission for awhile...unless I use a wheel chair and head straight to work after lol
