I see posts where there are 2 different part #'s both claim to be correct. One is 48220 04210 the other is 48220 04190. I have the 04190. Which is correct?

I wonder why I have read more than one 2009 DC owner on this forum getting the TSB done if it only applied to 2005-2008?

I started a thread today about basically the same thing. From talking with my dealership this is what I gathered.

The newest replacement leaf pack is a 3 leaf. So basically if you have an eligible VIN you will be getting a "stronger" 3 leaf. My dealership found the 4 leaf replacements only after I found the part numbers from this thread. They gave me the option. I went with the 4 leaf.

I would add my thread but don't know how...still kinda new at this.

I got a reply from Toyota on this today. I have a 4x2 dbl cab TRD Sport, it's part of the TSB. Below is the reply.

In addition, we appreciate your inquiry on the Load Carrying Capacity (Addendum) Label Owner Notification Program.

Your 2009 Tacoma is involved in the Owner Notification Program.

The Addendum Label will be mailed to our customers in phases over the next few months.

If we can be of further assistance, please click on the following link, http://www.toyota.com/help/contactus.html, to contact us.

    Sincerely,

Long time listener, first time caller.
I tried to get the TSB done for my 09 DC TRD Sport. Went through all the right channels, talked to the dealership, called corporate and opened up a case, etc. I actually dropped off the truck to have the springs put on. Thats when the trouble started.
The head mechaninc said the 4 pack springs won't fit on my truck(whole other story with that). He said MY springs were made in Canada and all the problem ones were made in California, the TSB doesn't apply to me. I have "magic", new "stronger" 3-pack springs.
Corporate authorized the deal, so I call them. They tell me the same thing now. I tell them I would like an accurate number that my truck can carry because I have the dreaded yellow sticker that has my load reduced by 290 and I don't want to overload the truck.
A week and a half later I am told my load has been reduced 4lbs. Not 290. Not 294. 4. I was told its a general sticker that certain options MAY weigh and not an accurate number for each truck. I was told so many inconsistent stories my head is spinning. I can't wait to go back to that dealership when/if the 09's end up on the TSB and those springs magically fit.

not to many, love it the way it is
    Welcome to the forum..

There are spring part numbers that qualify for the tsb. I have never seen anyone post about not getting the tsb because the new and improved 3 leaf set is on their truck. the improved 3 leaf is a myth or fantasy made up by Toyota :D

I have a 2009, and recently had the TSB completed. I also had a 2007 that I had the TSB performed on. I checked the part numbers on the leaf pack before I took it to the dealer to get it changed. They were the defective part numbers listed in the 2008 TSB.

I complained to the dealer, and they fixed it.
