Finally blew the motor at 230,000, sprung for a Jasper with 100,000/3 year warranty. The birdpig has a new set of wings! OME heavy load lift kit, Dakar leafs w/AAL, frame mounted energy suspension 4.5" bumpstops, 882 coils, nitrocharger sport shocks, trail gear sliders, addicted offroad front bumper, KC 130w daylighters, Warn M8000, 31" BFG KM2's, custom dents and Nevada pinstripes.
Epic photos. la0d0g, where are those creek pics from round V and round VI ? As much as I love my 1st gen for the narrow factor, and try to resist getting a newer rig, you big taco mofos and your pics have convinced me to build a new taco for my dual-sport dd. I was going to wait till my motor died to rebuild, sas, and cage my 98' for a crawler but now I'm thinking of a new rig before the old one needs even more $$$. That snorkled out rig is making me think about shit my bank account is not going to like.

The stream pic in V is where we camped right outside of Jarbidge, really cool spot. The one in round VI is southeast of Jarbidge on the way to Montello. I forgot the exact name of the area, maybe TJ will chime in because I know he knows :)

It's called New Pass Station and is a little bit west of Austin.

Oh nice. I decided to jog down south and cut across the middle of the state for my drive back home. IMO 50 is so much nicer that 80 for getting across.

Here are my stats. Not 100% exact to TJ's but close enough for government work when your odo is off a little. Pretty happy with my MPG, its about the best I've gotten in the last 12 months. Maybe there is something to getting on the throttle a little more :p

Nice, I wish I would have kept track of fuel. I might have all my receipts. I think we were pretty close on gallons each fill up though. Sam was a little better than both, and then Roberts was in the crapper everytime.
I'll get more pictures done up tonight.

After being sick all week, I finally have the energy to post up some pictures. The order got a little messed up while uploading.

Unfortunately, I woke up on the last morning feeling ill (and continued until today) so I made the decision to head home. So I didnot make it to the Utah border. I also was very lucky to make it through Saturday without a spare tire and didn't want to put the others in a position to have to rescue me.
I had a great time and it was great to meet all of you. Robert (the old guy in the old Ford) was a hoot...red glove and all. TJ's wife got up early Saturday morning and made us all breakfast burritos - they were awesome - thank you.
The drive home was the most difficult of the week for me. I was exhausted, dirty as hell, and felt like shit, but the wife had pizza waiting for me and my 6 year old boy stayed up and met me at the front door...made me feel much better.
I'll talk to you guys soon. You have my number, hit me up next time you're in Vegas.
...I finally got me truck cleaned up yesterday!

I'd have to pick Saturday night camp spot outside Jarbidge. Felt secluded, and right next to a stream with fish.

I have been super busy, and on vacation. No excuses. Got the rest edited up and here they are.

    Day 3, my favorite day.

    Breaking camp.

Those cows were more friendly than the ones in owyhee.
Maine was cool, but I definitely prefer the mountains.
