None currently, but I would like a better sounding exhaust and perhaps a cold air pack and some color coded step bars
HBMurphy, have you found that you can extend the change out of Mobil 1? In other words instead of the 5000mile that Taco recommends, I have been extending it to 6-6200, depending on how the oil looked.
I have no problem with doing it at 5K along with a stock Taco filter or a Wix filter. One of the reasons I like to keep it at 6200 or so is that I change oil and filter every spring and fall and I have no garage and I only put 12K on my truck per year.
I just enjoy doing my own oil . Any thoughts?

Thanks, hopefully we can get a reply on this. Previously, my girlfriend's 97 Subaru wagon was fed a steady diet of Mobil 1, at the last timing belt /water pump service(125K) our Subie mechanics told me that engine was very clean and it got changed at every 6200 miles.
We have a new 09 Subaru and it will have Mobil 1 also and we will do like wise. I apprectiated both the benefits of syn oil especially in the cold New England winter, in 2006 we had some temps to -15 and that car never failed to start, part of that due to syn adaptablility.
I cannot wait for her new car to trip the 3000 mile marker and get Mobil 1 in it.

I have always use synthetics. Mobil 1 is what I have used for the past few years. I have had good luck with Royal Purple too, but it is expensive & I don't like the purple dye they add, it makes the oil very dark when you drain it out. I have always changed my oil in 5K intervals

I use the Mobil 1 Extended Performance Synthetic from Walmart w/OEM Toyo Filter. I love it as I've noticed a difference from normal MB1 Synthetic. My truck moves a lot smoother ever since the switch. The Rasp I had with my DTLH is not that noticable anymore. I'm happy I paid a tad more for it.

I just bought a 5-qt jug of Pennzoil Platinum for $20 at Walmart. There is a $15 mail-in rebate Walmart gift card offer until 8-31-2009.

In other words, 5 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic for $5.

Hmm, that wasn't much more expensive (1 dollar I think?) than the regular MB1.. I will give it a shot next time.

I assume even though that oil can go.. what 15k without needing a change, that you would still wanna change your oil filter every 5k.

In my last truck which was a Ranger I used Mobile 1 just because it was easier.

I plan on using AMSoil. I have just heard just good things about it and want the best for this truck.

    Wow. I'm normally a Mobil 1 guy, but that's a heck of a deal.

"Limit One", or is it time to stock up on a lifetime supply of oil?

Limit 2 per address. I would buy 2 at the same time.

Be sure to get the ones that have the rebate form attached to the side.

As far as protection, and fuel economy is using royal purple, redline, or amsoil. Overkill when you can use mobil 1 or castrol. I've been using RP for the past 3 oil changes but its pretty expensive.

Over at http://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums the experts say wonderful things about Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic. These guys send their used motor oil to testing labs and cut their oil filters apart to evaluate performance. You won't find anybody more qualified to evaluate oil than them.

Not only do they recommend and use Pennzoil Platinum Synthetic themselves, it's very common to see it compared in the same sentence with Mobil 1.

I think that says a lot.

I just purchased an 04 with 62k miles. I have know idea what kind of oil the previous owner was using. Assuming he was using dyno, is it okay to switch to synthetic or is it too late?
