Is there a way to increase range of key fob? Mine doesn't seem to work unless your right up to the door. I have put new battery in it . So that isn't it. Thought maybe someone on here would know how to change something to make it work better.

I don't know how to fix it, but it should work better than that. I assume you mean the stock one?

Mine will work up to a good 50' to 75' with a clear shot. Do you have more than one? Try the other one with same results?

    ^^ This ^^

It should work a lot further than that. On a side note, if you are a long way away and happen to forget to lock your truck you can hold the remote under your chin and gain a lot of distance that way. Sorry OP... I know that doesn't answer your question.

Yes both fob work about the same. I thought maybe there was something on truck like an antenna or something I could reposition.

Yeah, somethin is definitely wrong. I'd bump this thread every couple days or so if no answers, I'm sure someone knows.

Quite honestly I don't know. It just works. I was riding my bike the other day and was a good 100 yards away and realized I forgot to lock the truck. Had a clear line of sight but wouldn't work. Put it under my chin and it worked. Don't know why?

I had heard the same story and tried it. It does work.

I think it works the same as using your body as a broadcast antenna.

If its an older fob you can replace the battery and will help.

I have replaced battery. I found a thread on moving the antenna to get better range. But that was for a first gen. I have a 2008 dcsb trd sport. So if anyone knows where the module is located with the antenna? I can try to reroute the antenna, see if that makes it better.

The antenna for all that I thought was right there in the middle of the dash.

In the post that I had seen, he said around steering wheel, or under drivers seat. Thought maybe I could get some direction instead of just taking dash apart hoping to find it.

What you are looking for is called the Door Control Receiver. It is above and behind the Glove Compartment under the dashboard. Just to the left of the ECM ( Engine Control Module ).
