I'm in the group buy and am about to tell Pop n Lock to stick there '09 model up their ass and go with a Dynalock electric lock system.

They've been pulling my middle leg since Nov.
I really don't want to go with an electric lock but these pricks may force me to.
I don't like being bullshitted month after month.

I might be doing the same thing... I ordered the 5300 through TruckAlterations, and they just had it on backorder waiting to be fulfilled....

I emailed the guy today and he refunded my money, which is going to be used on a Dynolock...

    this sucks...

So... I ordered a Dynolock last Sunday... It was delivered Wednesday, I installed it today...

Less than a week from order to install...

I didn't take any pics, but everything went pretty smoothly, The instructions suck, but I followed this thread (http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=119407), and was able to get everything done in about an hour and a half.

I like it so far, it does exactly what it's supposed to... locks when I hit the lock button on the remote, and unlocks with the passenger side doors...

I have an Access Limited Tonneau (Soft), and it only opens when the tailgate is open... Sure, you can slice the tonneau open, but it will keep curious eyes away...

Oh, and this is for an 09 WITH the camera...

I'm happy with it so far...

Mudfish, how are you liking the lock? I haven't purchased a cover or lock because of the whole Pop n' Lock issue and am looking into the Dynolock...

I pulled out of the group buy and ordered one from this site a month or so ago. It shipped quickly and the installation is easy and the lock is very nice. It ships from Canada so maybe this dude has a hook up with the P & L factory.

BTW, It comes with two keys but if you want more P & L has them for $10 US for a pair shipped.

Wow, eBay has it already? And you got it no problem? I'm ordering mine today, thanks alot for posting on it's quality and the fact that it actually exists, I always worry about mass marketed products on eBay that might end up being fake or copies. Awesome post fellas, good to know this is available! I'll be ordering mine tonight!

I forgot to ask, since it replaces the camera entirely, is the clarity and wide angle view the same? I'm assuming that it's just plug and play and that the camera on the oem handle is not used anymore? Can you walk me through what that looks like if you don't mind? Thanks!

There are lots of vendors that have ebay stores and sell new items as "Buy it now" with no bidding.

I can't answer your question about the camera view. My '09 basic access came with the camera in the handle but no mirror monitor altough the wiring harness is above the mirror under the headliner. I haven't had the urge yet to cough up the bucks for the mirror. The PL5300 does replace the entire OEM handle. Some of the P & L locks are add ons under the OEM handle. The way they built in the key cylinder next to the handle is nice, but it does mean moving the camera to the other side. The only thing you have to do is unplug the wiring from the camera, move the cam over to the new handle and reroute the wiring harness. There is plenty or wire to move the camera to the other side. There is a plastic plug in the PL5300 that you remove with two screws and screw the camera into the new handle. Those '05 - '09 Tacos without the camera can use the PL5300 by leaving the plastic piece alone.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, I did a search though the group buy and it seems like others have purchased from this same guy with good results. Good thing I was subscribed to this thread! Take care.

The camera is NOT discarded...just MOVED to the left side of the handle. You use the same OEM camera from the original handle. If you look at the picture on eBay you can see that the camera is now on the left side of the handle. I'll try and post some pictures of my install.

OK, now I think I understand... You mount the OEM camera in the new lock on the opposite side and get OEM rear view camera with new P&L lock, thanks for the clarification and posting your find payrow, really appreciate it, it just reminded me to do this as I had given up looking all the time for availablity because it never happened. Have a great weekend!

To to clarify more, you do not get a new camera with the new P & L lock. You remove the camera from the OEM handle and remount it in the new P & L handle.
