The main batt is nearly empty. Lots of heavy gauge on the aux batt wired to front & rear winch, a stereo amp, and I went with double cables from each 7622 terminal to the battery positives, in order to meet the continuous amp load for winching when batteries are combined. Had some extra so I figured it couldn't hurt.

Time to wire the control. I guess I'll leave the brown wire start for isolation out of it, and just let it run auto until I figure out that wire location.

I'm going with the same concept, just two things to mount. This little monitor took forever to get there from S. Africa (ebay), $25 with shipping I think. It'll fit real well next to the Blue Sea switch.

You are really on the ball today with the play on words Sky...

    "A lot of terminations...and determination..."

Mount looks nice. Did you get the ACR mounted yet or just placed under there for now?

EDIT - I see in the RFRM thread it is mounted...looks sweet!

Look in the RFRM thread. I posted a pic of the mount hanging after I sprayed it.

So, yes, mounted it. That corner is done til I get a Contactor.

^^ Saw it right after I posted.

PS - I think the lights on my dash may have just been a fluke...they didn't come back on after I stopped for food, so hopefully they stay off. Will disconnect/reconnect battery if they pop up again though.

Technically you probably don't need the start isolation feature. That is really meant for boats in which you might be cranking for a while. If you have a truck that works well and starts without extended cranking, it is not needed. What I was told by Blue Sea is that when you are cranking if you notice accessories like your radio fading out, go ahead and hook it up. They said it was far more applicable to using in a boat than a fairly modern vehicle.

Now that I have it all hooked up, I realize you're right. The built-in delay negates the need for what seems to be an extended delay "start isolation" feature. Just the standard wiring seems to be at least 30 seconds before the switch closes, but I haven't timed it. Guessing it closes after the main batt recovers from the cold cranking, and would probably vary based on the charge/main batt level.

I ended up not using those other wires and insulated them separately.

Wow. Reading though this whole thread is like looking at one of my grandma's old quilts. Is this a conglomeration of several threads? Because I'm curious what mod allowed that? LOL.

    But I digress...
Curious what you guys have been using as a battery maintainer/charger?

Yes, this was a similar thread to every other thread thats a 'Show Us YOUR.... Shell, 35's, black rims, tires, etc. ' SO yes. this is a conglomerate of threads all in one that I copied and pasted together. This was not a HOW TO thread by any means.

Battery Charger/ Maintainer. - Haven't needed it yet, but I have an OPTIMA 1200 Battery Maintainer floating around somewhere.

I wanted that 400 version they sell. It is only 4amp charge. VS the 12 amp in the 1200. Would have been slick to put that hardwired in. i like a faster charge.

Another down side to the Optima versions. They only charge 12v batteries, nothing else. i originally wanted something that covered the full range, just in case I had to help someone else. Was thinking of adding 6v cells for the solar.

Alright. It may be helpful it you linked the original threads that had the bulk amount of posts. Not the posts from the "What did you do today" threads. But maybe the posts with the bulk parts attached. Just a suggestion. I was pretty confused. Haha.

I'm going to give one of the CTEK chargers a try. A 25A. They charge every type of L.A. battery. I have two of the diehard/odyssey 31M batteries. I've read they need a high amp charge (40A) which is kind of ridiculous And I've heard quite a few instances of people killing their batteries with a dual setup after a year or two from just charging from dc sources. Not sure of their setups though.

On the subject of links. The quotes are links to the original posts. By all means though. If you want to organize this thread, do so. Then post up the organized links and such and I will update the OP with your post and credit you for it. There are already tons of subscribers to this thread. No sense in making another.

As for the charger, I would like to see the links to the one you mention. Plus if you have links to the data you mentioned on charging amperage. That would be useful. I was under the impression charging amperage was only relative to duration of the time. Then again sulfation issue etc.
