Yea buddy! That's the first "advertising" we've done outside of announcing these products here on Tacoma World forum. We're getting GREAT word of mouth sales...with 100% positive feedback.

Cool product, really nicely made. Probably going to order one.

Any issues with leverage on the oem windshield mirror mount causing it to fail or windshield breakage?

Great idea y'all. Some great looking solutions here! New to the Tacoma and have been noticing the rearview issues. Keep it up!

So, I installed this thing last week, was really liking having the mirror up out of the way.
Go out to my truck this morning and find this.
    Dammit!

About a 5 inch long crack centered under the riser. If you look carefully at the pics, it is on both sides of the mirror.

I was concerned about the additional leverage placed on the glass mounted mirror by this thing, even asked about it. Didn't hear anything either way, figured he had sold enough of them without complaints so I pulled the trigger on it.

Pretty sure I didn't install it incorrectly, I didn't go nuts tightening down the hardware, trimmed the OEM mirror bracket, made sure there was no contact or sharp edges pressing against the glass.

Now it is a $900 mistake (about what an OEM replacement windshield costs). Plus having to either live without the trim plate that covers the wiring for the cam and auto dim or replace the OEM mirror as I had to cut off the bracket that holds the trim to mount this thing).

Pretty bummed about the whole thing.

ETA: Just pulled the riser off.

That sucks. Did you have anything hanging off the RAM mount prior? I've had mine for several weeks now with no issues. I've only used the RAM mount once, on a recent road trip. It was holding my Spot beacon, which doesn't weigh much.

I just received one like this from a different forum member; seems to add some leverage with the weight of the mirror alone.... adding the RAM mount with extra "stuff" would be a concern for me. Any one else have any issues with using one of these mirror risers?

The crack does look to be on the inside layer of glass. How is the factory mirror mount attached to the glass?

Installed this evening on a 2012 with the power mirror and took me about an hour. Honestly probably took 45 minutes longer than needed but I like to take my time and not mess things up.

You will need a dremel (first time using and it was straight forward, easy to use, wasn't too worried about cutting )
Make your cut anywhere between the lines (on the first post) as this is to simply shorten the oem arm.
I didn't force my wiring into the headliner, just taped up the white clips with electrical tape and propped it up on the mirror arm.
Don't over tighten anything, just enough to make it snug and you'll be good to go!

Fairly straight forward but if anybody has any questions or needs any pictures, feel free to PM me or reply here.
