For the Johnny Manziel detractors, in all of D1 he had the #5 highest total completion percentage. Bridgewater was #2 and he threw two fewer passes than manziel. Bortles was #13 overall and he threw 40 less passes. And your boy Conner Shaw(who I'm a fan of) was #39 overall and he threw about 150 fewer passes than Manziel and Bridgewater.

Manziel also completed 73% of his passes from within the pocket. Which was #1 among all automatic qualifier conferences. Which also means he was better at it than all the other big name quaterbacks you can think of that were drafted this year.

People say all he knows how to do is run and scramble to throw. Those people didn't watch him play over the last year. They just watched the highlights. He's put in the work to be good from within the pocket and there was a huge difference in his style of play between the last two seasons. The numbers never lie folks.

I'm not saying he's going to come out and be as good as Andrew Luck or Drew Brees or anything crazy. But I don't think he's going to be the next Mark Sanchez either. His body still needs to fill out and develop. Give him time and lets just see what happens.

Who say's the next guy isn't better? ;)

There's alot of uncertainties for the upcoming season. It's hard to know what to expect. It's college football!

It'll be interesting to see what they do about Marshall. In this day and age though it'll probably just be a short suspension. They're not worried about smoking the reefer too much.

His physical measurables are ALL better than Drew Brees....

That article is also from May 2013 is you look at the heading. It doesn't take into account anything from the past season....

And his Wonderlic score was better than: Brees, Mccown, Rivers, Flacco, Sanchez, Hasselbeck, Bulger, Dalton, Grossman, Aikman, Elway,P. Manning, Leaf, Cutler, Orton, Rothlisberger, Palmer(both), Dilfer, Farve, Kelly, Marino, Bradshaw among many other NFL quaterbacks.

I'm not saying that any of these things equals being a good NFL quaterback. Only success does that. You can't have success until you're on the field.

I watched him play in high school. Don't know him but have heard several times what an arrogant douche bag he is. That was from class mates so who knows? Could just be haters. But my step daughter says the same type things. Him and his brother ruled the school as the star of the team plus the fact that their dad was the head coach.

What is this aimed at? I mean we have been kicking guys off the team for dispensary reasons and lost our entire secondary this off season for this reason. I see it the exact opposite. Other teams just sweep this stuff under the rug to keep their top players on the team.

I've meet Conner. He was a good guy from what I could tell. I wasn't best friends with the guy or anything but anyone who plays his heart out like the way he did is probably a down to earth guy. Also, I think Dylan has been groomed enough to be the leader we need him to be. He had ice in his veins two years ago in the Carolina/Klempson matchup. Hopefully, if he has ice in his veins during a heated rivalry and isn't phased he'll keep the demons out of his head this season and play well. Last years Missouri game didn't exactly go as planned the first 3 quarters he was in but hopefully that was a fluke game and he's beyond that busch league meltdown now.

Dylan worries me....he seems to flip/flop in performance ......kind of like Garcia did a few years ago. Plays like a champ one game & looks like a middle school girl the next. Looks to be a very questionable season.

It was just a shot aimed at no one directly, these young men throw it all away each year. Alabama lost a player today for DUI.
My nephew is a Georgia grad and season ticket holder I share his other seat at the stadium on a regular basis I agree with you about some teams sweeping issues under the rug:confused: WAR EAGLE

I'm really interested to see how Thompson does as well. I've always liked watching SC play. It seemed like he's awesome for one half of the game, then not so much the other. I'm not sure if that's a result of him being easy for opposing defenses to adjust to, nerves, or what.

Personally I'm hopping he lays an egg in the opening game... lol

I understand the concern. He did have some games where he flat out didn't look good at all (off the top of my head I'm thinking back to Mizzou and the ECU opener in Charlotte two years ago). He's def had some problem games but I still refuse to group him in with Garcia, Mitchell, Smelly, or Beacher. I think he's a tier above them..... but i have been proved wrong before. We have some great talent coming back with Mike "28" Davis and Cooper so I guess we will just have to wait and see. My fingers are crossed as I thought, hands down, the biggest loss we had in talent from last year was Shaw as he was always the X factor on every play.

no clue why they fired him for that. I understand he shouldn't have done it. but at most he should have gotten a suspension.
