    That's a great Price for a detail!!

Keep in mind the reason that Permaplate is so expensive is it's attached to a warranty. It also isn't that great of a wax or sealant. People think its good or associate it with quality because it's so expensive. It's just a money maker for the dealerships.

Installed an OEM Accessory skid plate I got from a member for $50. I know most people don't like it because it's thin, but I dig it. I don't plan on bashing it into rocks in the next few years and when that time comes, I'll upgrade.

    Yes, I sold my '13 Taco. :'(
I understand that, hence RIP OFF in my post. I used to detail cars for a living 10 years ago so I know how it goes with easy back end money making during paper signing.

Permaplate is decent, but its not terrible either. Definitely not worth its warranty, but I wouldn't be discouraged to use it...it does protect to a certain degree. For $80, it's a bargain. ;) I don't bother lifting my hose to a vehicle these days, I either wait for rain or pay someone else to do it.

Are there any posts regarding burglar alarms for Tacomas. I want to install one that takes a picture of the cab and dials my cell phone but does not necessarily honk the horn.

The wife was sad to see you trucks color she had one of the same but needed more room for the little one so she wanted the 4 runner in the same color but was harder to find.

Was nice to see your truck up close and which grill do you have a grillcraft or custom car grills kit.

Today the wife and I tinted our taillights, we used the Gila smoke color window film. Its about 30% tint and easily removed if the police don't like it. Last week we painted the front emblem and her front grill. She has been wanting to rid the "chrome" off of her edge since we bought it (3 years ago) but usually my other cars took priority, now that the same supplies for mine will help hers she has been a happy camper, have to do the fog housings now! I am very happy with the out come of both and the tint was only 12.00 at Lowes!!

A family that plays together stays together!

Can anyone recommend a GOOD head unit for our trucks? Looking for a in dash with bluetooth/dvd/ audio controls. With good output and still be able to keep my steering controls. Been researching but getting mixed reviews on some units. Need some help to filter out the bad ones. Something below/around $500 would be great. Thanks guys.

:cool:how did you end up getting the tint to stick and follow the contour of the light without wrinkling? Also possible link to tint used or a pic of package. Thanks

The tint is vinyl so a lot of time heating and stretching with a hair dryer. To be honest it did not smooth over the LED light area but as you can see its hardly noticeable.

Here is the link to the Lowes listing, and a picture of the packaging, its very important to get the SMOKE color the black is too dark I have already tried!

Tint is a film that shrinks NOT stretches. Vinyl stretches AND shrinks. Gila is an extremely low end film. I would highly recommend using Oracal vinyl 8600 series. Price is not much more, but the quality is 10X that of Gila, not to mention Tint is a film meant to be applied to the inside, not the outside. The time frame of this lasting is variable. The vinyl is good for 8 years outside mount. It too is removable. I tint windows and install vinyl for a living, so feel free to ask questions.
