2.5 setting, stock coils. WOW, what a difference in the ride! LOVE it! Can't believe I rode on stock shocks & struts for 12 years! LOL

I looked at the rest of the photos, did the LBJ fail or did you shear the spindle?

Is there a certain angle the BPV needs to be at for proper braking ratios?

My braking feels a lot different and I'm trying to figure out if too much braking is being sent to the rear.

Granted it very well may be that I haven't had rear brakes in a long time so of course it'll feel different. But I also have a warped rotor and felt it every time I got on the brakes before. Now I don't feel it at all. Plus, it may just be my all in my mind, but it truly feels as though I could stop quicker as I don't feel much going to the front.

Any thoughts on how to check proper braking ratios or to make sure the BPV is at a good angle?

    Thanks.

On mine after adding the BPV bracket, I had to bend the arm slightly to get it parallel with the axle.

Thanks! I put 5100's all around. Stock leafs with Toytec adjustable shackle set on middle setting. Had to cut tailpipe to accommodate lowered leaf spring.

Thats a very good question and im intrested in the response. Im getting ready to cut my bpv "arm" off and zip tie the arm at a fixed angle since all the bracketry on the axle is getting in the way of my shocks and ebrake cable.

Do you know if it has ever been adjusted at the OEM nut on the BPV arm? If it hasn't, it should be the stock adjustment. Then just add a bracket that is the same as your lift.

Ignore the fact that I flipped mine, it gave me just the right height adjustment.

I could measure the amount of thread on mine, because it was stock when I got it from the PO. Compare that to yours, and you will know if it is at the original setting, then go from there.

If you do that, it can't adjust your brakes depending on payload.

    I highly doubt it.

I don't know exactly how much lift I got out of the rear.

Am I looking at that top line coming out of the BPV to be parallel with the axle? Is there any such specs I should be aware of?

I'll go out and take a similar picture and compare.

The FSM shows a way to test is and adjust the pressure. I remember glancing through it when trying to see how to remove the bpv.

Yeah, I read that... I'd have to hook up pressure gauges front and rear, depress the pedal in a specific way and go off of their specs.

I have no way of doing that.

My bpv is on 100% at all times and I've never noticed anything different, except better braking.

Yea it looked like a PITA. I had braking issues a while back. My pedal would go half way down, get tight (not brake fully) then I would push a little harder and it would "break through" and go all the way down (fully braking). I replaced my master cylinder, rear brake cylinders, bled the brakes, flushed the brake fluid, nothing worked. Got under my truck and tugged on the bpv lever, and it kinda jolted like it has been stuck. It fixed whatever my problem was and my brakes have been fine for the past 2 years. Not sure if its set correctly, but I don't want to mess with it since my brakes feel fine now.

Same here, when I had one I had it zip tied up all the way, the stock BPV gives a maximum of 37% brake power. I ended up switching to a manual BPV and have mine turned up higher than the OEM will go. We rarely get any rain and zero ice so that isnt an issue, but on dry pavement and off road its way better with more rear brakes

yea seized bolts is pretty common for the leafs on first gens. I think i only had one bolt that wasn't seized on my leafs. Riding without shocks??

I hoped you replaced those shackle bolts with greaseables to prevent that from happening again...
