Thanks Travis! My wife really wanted to go up Antero but when we got to the trailhead there was emergency vehicles and it was closed due to an ATV rolling off the trail. I guess the guy was pretty badly hurt, they were about to perform a high angle rescue. Grizzly was awesome though! Several 1st, 2nd, and 3rd gen 4runners up there when we arrived, no Heeps! :D

    Thank You!

The tan one is a Scepter water can
    http://www.sceptermilitary.com/water_containers/

They don't sell the plastic gas cans to the public anymore because of the EPA.

Edit: I got mine from the Lexington Container Company:

Damn, that looks way drier than when we tried it . . . nice job. That line you took up kept sliding me off to the left, Brett went up the same spot though.

I wouldn't want to see anyone roll off antero, looooooooooooooong ways down.

It was fairly wet when I rolled up to it, it had rained the day before from about 2pm until 5am that morning. At first I took the more used path to the left of the trees in the creek, looked at it and decided to back up through the creek and come around the right side of the trees for a more straight shot, walked right up it. :D

Edit: Looking back at your pics I did take the exact same line as you, I guess it was just drier.

I want to run this! any chance you have a .gpx file of your route? or was it pretty straight forward leading from one trail to the next?

how long did this take? any place an open/open rig like me would have trouble? if I wanted to split this into two days, where would you camp (gonna just sleep in the bed of the truck)

    Thanks!

I do not, but it is super straight forward, up Red Cone, then down Webster to Santa Fe (up and back) which is off one of the streets in Montezuma, and up into Peru where all of the others branch off of the main road (which is heavily graded, a Prius was at the end of Peru). All of those you will have no issue with, a stock truck could probably do all of these trails with good line choice. Chihuahua was probably the rockiest and least stock friendly, Red Cone is no problem as long as you are comfortable with heights and ledges.

I was on the trail for about 10 hours, but we took our time running Red Cone, then I ran everything else by myself, probably 4 hours from Montezuma for the rest of the trails, not really stopping too much. There is literally camping spots everywhere back there, some of the cooler spots were up Chihuahua, that was a really cool trail and there is a hike up to a lake at the end of the trail that I would like to check out sometime.

They just recently opened it up to through traffic, they basically just built a new bridge upstream from the one that got washed out that looks like it will now be the permanent one.

Webster is still very closed, and may not melt out this year, waaaay bigger than the drift we saw on Tin Cup. This one shows it best, far left. This is probably a 30-40' tall drift that is absolutely massive. Radical still has a few large drifts as well, I would think at least another 2-3 weeks.

I should add that Santa Fe was pretty cool, not a challenging trail other than the shelf aspect of it, but the views were awesome, basically eye to eye with Grays and Torreys.
