    Woo Hoo! No vibes! :woot:

And behind the scenes, Madjik Man was busy preparing ribs, between tightening bolts, banging on rusty shackles, breaking a zerk and taking photos. I think he was busier than Troy and myself were.
    The ribs were excellent.:hungry:
Thank you for the feast, and the chance to meet you as well as Squeaky Penguin. You guys were great to work with!

    Hey Madjik,

I am curious as to how your 881's are holding up and if you are still satisfied? I have pretty much the same truck except '04. I don't have a bumper or anything adding weight.

I have been debating a full OME with either 881 or 882+AAL. I'm a little concerned that the 881 will sag/settle to an undesirable height. I'm looking for about 2" and going to go for ~32xs10.5 tires.

I've only had them on for a day. They've settled a bit but right now with my 31s I love them. And these are really worn out 31s. The new shoes go on tomorrw (31s also).

Once I get my flares back on I plan on taking measurements (hub to fender) this week.

Then again in a few months, year, etc...

Check out BDN's build. He has pics of his truck and he has 882s and 265/75r16 tires. But he has a plate bumper and winch up front.

Oh dang I should have checked the dates on your build. I was looking at BDN's build. I think his height is what I am after, but again I plan on keeping the stock bumper for a while.

882 as far as I know is the same spring rate as 881, so I assume it would be a similar ride but taller.

    Thanks again!

No problem. You're right on the spring rate and higher free height.

Check m3bassman's build. I think he's on 882s with stock weight up front.

    Fender flare restoration in process.

Deliberated on whether or not I wanted to color match them or not. Aside from deciding the black would look better with the grand scheme, it's also a fraction of the cost in materials.

My flares are all chewed up. The 98-00 flares are fiberglass so the only way to do it right would have been to repair with fiberglass, sand, etc...

Way too much for my blood.

Decided I'd try filler+primer to see if I could fill the nasty gouges then sand them down. After a few coats in selected areas I realized this process would be more than I'd want to deal with.

So I embraced my "fuck it, good enough" philosophy.

Clean with soap/water, dry, mask, wipe with prep wipe, let dry, 3 light coats self-etching primer and about 4 or 5 light coats Rustoleum semi-gloss black enamel.

Here they are just before primer:

    I'll translate:

He's on 883s with stock bumper, no winch and no skid plates.

We have the same exact lift. I'll be installing a set of RAT skids in a few weeks so we'll see if the 881's handle the weight.

Eventually, I'll replace the bumper and add a winch which will require 882's or 883's but I'm hoping to keep the 881's as long as possible.

I went with RAT due to price, the fact that he can deliver right to my front door and that they look like a quality product.

I went with the 1/8" to save weight.

This isn't my first lifted truck ;)

And yes, I keep doing the over-the-shoulder glances after parking. And can't wait to walk up to it when coming back.

Tomorrow I'll have the newly painted flares, newly painted wheels and new tires on it. My nipples are already hard in anticipation.

Discount Tire wouldn't use the black lug nuts 45acp gave me because they were meant for the steel wheels, not the alloy wheels. So I placed an order for the correct black lugs.

Anywho... here's the truck all dialed in, lest those black lug nuts. Discount Tire also put fucking tire shine on without telling/asking me. I fucking hate glossy tire shine.

Just have to refinish the front and rear bumper and he'll be looking young again.
