Sounds like she is already talking for you :anonymous:

My truck is my hobby, and really the only thing I spend $ on so my wife is fine within reason.

If she cuts the truck budget off, then you get to cut her clothing/manicure/etc budget off.

Just got back from a few days on the pond. Managed 9 fish, mix of yellowtail and yellowfin. Hung a monster bluefin that was the 80-100# class and kicked its ass in a hurry, right til it came to color almost ready for the gaff. Brand new Avet Raptor 2 speed reel shit the bed when I went to low gear, blew up the main gear and the fish quickly went the wrong direction. Damn shame, thats the best reel they make and they are damn proud of it, cant say I'm all that impressed personally. Killed several smaller fish under 30# on it no problem but when it came time for it to do the big fish dance it failed.

Oh no dont get me wrong, one of the biggest reasons we get along so well is we both understand that we have to have individual hobbies. I mean I wont be able to do stuff to my truck for a while cause Ill be saving for a wedding lol

Do you have the gears or need to order? East Coast Gear Supply can do a core exchange. You pay, they send you the 3rd already built and you return yours for a refund of your core.

The Truck Shop did a good job with my gearing and they are local up off Miramar Rd.

I don't have gears yet, need to upgrade to 4.56's to match my 35's. I actually just spoke to James today and he quoted me $1800. I was looking at ECGS last night and it looks like $1200 for their pre assembled front and rear. I've never done gears but from the looks of the preassembled 3rd and preassembled clamshell from ECGS it seems like a bit of no brainer huh ?..save $600 in labor...

I thought I read somewhere on TW about a shop either in SD or IE that was doing them for around $1k installed ?

Hi all, I don't live in San Diego anymore, but I did a little schooling there. My father has lived around SD since 1986, and I lived in PB, Mira Mesa and Clairemont for a while. I learned to surf at Tourmaline, and miss skating down hills while using my surfboard as a wind brake.

Anyway I hope to drive out west next year and get it a little sandy on my old stomping grounds. Have a nice summer!

ATO front skid (need more but icon's might fail if I hang anything else from my truck) All-Pro front bumper thanks to a good deal here and a pesky encounter with a rock or 20, total chaos uppers.
For gears maybe try https://www.yotamasters.com, think a few member have had good luck with them. But front and rear for under $2k at a local shop sounds like a good idea should you have any issues.

Yeah, around $1280 + shipping to you + you shipping the cores back + new fluids. So probably around $1450 to $1500.

Pro-Gear in Kearny Mesa does great work! and why is everyone sending them to the east coast when they can be done closer on the west coast http://www.differentials.com/

I have purchased from both of these and always got a great price and customer service.
