Seems like the Police should be notified.... if they are not a salvage yard, how did they get these?

The only way that would be any more suspicious is if they were directly contacting people who have actually had their tailgate stolen to offer them a "deal"

    Thieves SUCK

I have been too lazy to buy a hose clamp and every time I go to lowes, I forget to buy it. So right now I have a jumbo sized zip tie on the hinge.

Hose clamp works for me. Effective and cheap.

Have the hose clamp, with blob of gorilla glue on the bolt that would have to be scraped off to remove.
Do like the zip tie; if one of the wide/thick ones and the zip-part hidden when open; it'd be a b1tch to cut off...

I am liking this idea. As another member has posted, this would be a bitch to cut off if you used one of those monster zip ties that are almost half an inch wide.

Also, back to thread. This seems super sketchy and I can't stand thieves. Too much shit stolen in the past between my old car and my brothers old car. I can't stand some lazy ass person who is too sorry to go out and work for their money the legit way.

hose clamp covered by gatekeeper ss guard with cable washer mod locked up with popnlock and truck locked in garage.

The ziptie thing sounds good for short term but those things get brittle from weather and heat after awhile. Change it out every 6-12 months if staying with those.

This is a little shady. I have been looking for a use tailgate for over a year now and I haven't been able to touch one. I ended up going with an aftermarket tailgate from Rock Auto which is a pile of shit. You lean against it and it leaves a dent. But yes very shady.
