I did a hard stop on pavement and the nose didn't dip down at all. It used to.

Well I finally got around to serious repairs in attempt to rid my 2003 Tacoma w/ 145k (original owner) from a lot of noise in the front end when off road'g.

    1. New Struts (Bilstein 5100s, OME 2881s), tie rods, OEM upper/lower ball joints. Interesting but all these new suspension parts did nothing to rid me of any of the off-road noise.

    2. Discovered a loose slip yoke in the steering column shaft that had play (common problem with all Tacomas). This took care of most of the noise except for a distinctly loud thumping that still remained.

    3. Checked all the body mounts which were still tight and then discovered that the real culprit was my ARB bull bumper.
It had just enough play on the left side that on good bumps it hits the front fender panel. This noise was amplified all the way to the floor board on the driver's side. I stuffed a piece of rubber hose in the gap, which solved the problem short term.

Truck seriously rides like new again.

Yeah, between the new suspension, fixed BPV, new steel braided rear brake line... I knew it would feel a lot different. And it does.

Just want to take caution that I'm not messing anything up.

Might have something to do based on load over the rear axle....empty bed vs loaded bed need different braking characteristics?

^Man, I don't know of one... That being said, bumper recovery points are usually close enough to the center that you can easily pull in a straight line. As far as strength goes, one recovery point has enough strength for everything that I've done.

All that being said, a short strap with looped ends (for shackles) would work well for what you're describing. Synthetic would keep the system from being to rigid and jarring.

You could probably use a tree-saver or a short strap. Just loop it through two points leaving the ends even length then attach a d-ring shackle to the snatch strap or winch line.

Why would you want to do that?

Chain is a big no no in recovery as well.

Discount Tire wouldn't use the black lug nuts 45acp gave me because they were meant for the steel wheels, not the alloy wheels. So I placed an order for the correct black lugs.

Anywho... here's the truck all dialed in, lest those black lug nuts. Discount Tire also put fucking tire shine on without telling/asking me. I fucking hate glossy tire shine.

Just have to refinish the front and rear bumper and he'll be looking young again.

You will actually put more stress on the frame and mounts with a "Y" type strap. The mounts will want to pull together when you apply force to it like during a tug and will be more likely to rip off then if you have one hooked up and do a straight line pull. The frames are weak but not that weak.

Climbing anchor stuff ftw. As long as you keep the angle less than 90deg you wont add much extra strain what so ever. Beyond 90deg it can get nasty

Is the BPV part of the brake distribution system? Basically the truck will apply more brakes wherever the weight is.
