It seems Tacoma gets a redesign every 10 years. I am curious if 15 or 16 model year will bring a new Taco? Anyone know what's up for sure?

My 08 with 115K miles still drives like a dream and like new, but I imagine by 2017 or 2018 I will have the itch to replace it with a new one.

Nope nothing credible as of yet.

If I was looking for a new truck I don't think it would be a Taco :(

The 15 model year will have the trd pro though, one would think if they started adding on to that to give buyers a taste of something different before they redesign things

I've owned 3 Tacos. Unless I have some extremely serious reason not to choose the new one it will be another Tacoma for me.

If I was looking new I would want a new engine. Not a truck with a 10 year old engine.

If the engine is solid and runs forever who cares if its 10 years old?

More than likely they'll be changing that to gain more mpgs, maybe put a turbocharged Lexus I4 engine to replace the current one

Only thing I'd say in addition to this is, same, but with the exception of.make it more powerful, more fuel efficient and just as reliable. (Also, would like to own a truck that that isn't quite so.similar as the one I have driven for 10 years.)

Only about the 5th year in a row. Can't believe my truck is 5 model years old. Must be crazy for the '05 owners rolling around out there with 10 year old trucks that are basically the same as what is rolling off the line today except for some sheet metal and a few gadgets.

Exactly! I would be real cautious with a complete redesign. Then we would all want to wait until they get all the bugs out. I think picking up the current Tacoma is a pretty smart choice.

10 year old engine??? must be reliable...I'll take it. Just like my 06 4Runner with the 4.7. I believe Lexus used those first in the early 2000s. Very reliable motors.

reliability is good, but they aren't as efficient as they could be.

I'm about to buy something, and pretty close to grabbing a 2014 baja edi. But I'm also thinking about holding off to look at the new GMC. More power and torque (304 hp reported without an SC), better appointed interior.

My sense is the big changes across the board in terms of mid-sized pickups will be 2016, when all the car companies start offering turbo-diesel engines. If there was one available now, I'd buy it,
