Off topic, I know, but speaking of OCMD... If you haven't seen it, check out the movie "Ping Pong Summer." It's not the best movie, but it's shot in OC.

So the speakers in the headliner, how/should I bother upgrading them when I swap out the speakers, are they just tweeters?

I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I won't be changing out the head unit yet just the speakers. I'm thinking Alpine Type R.

I loved my type r componet speakers I had in my civic only thing was somtimes the tweeters sounded to metallic sounding and overall just highs were to high. I messed with the setting and could never get them right I would suggest hearing a pair before you buy them. Also there fairly decent proces on sonic electronics website. Thought about installing some alpine type s in the truck. Plus the type r's really need an amp to get the to there full potential.

The speakers in my headliner never worked. I really do not think they were installed in the 09 Tacoma EXcab

I've got the 4cly so no idea.
Gotcha... Wonder what the price difference is for the Type S. I eventually plan on putting an 8" Samsung tablet in my dash to act as the screen for a recessed head unit, by then I'll probably add an amp

Just order some engine cover nuts from online.

I always put them in a magnetic bolt pan so i don't lose them.

You don't want ANY lose anything floating around in the engine bay

Don't... Speakers in the head liner are pointless... Speakers above your shoulders are pointless... Your speakers should be lower than your head really... Just unplug them and be done... If you upgrade your system correctly, (amp, processing amp, sub, 2 6's and 2 tweeters) youll be fine to tune it and set the "staging" so it sounds like the music is coming from straight in front of you along with being able to hear each instrument and the singers voice all "seperately" rather then mashed together as you hear it now.

I have no problem ordering the nuts, just have no idea what thread size they are. also, they weren't in the engine bay, they were laying in the cover itself on the ground outside my truck, hence why they are lost

Not sure what your price range is... But my family used to be huge into car audio competitions... Make the car sound good kind of competitions not huge bass competitions...

When I get around to saving up 500$ for install+ custom sub box I have these

    6.5's- http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00945KU48?pc_redir=1405274013&robot_redir=1

    Processing Amp- https://www.google.com/shopping/pro...460&ei=KOXFU-ejK8KMyATVpIDwDg&ved=0CEcQpiswAA

    Sub: http://www.ebay.com/itm/like/120719459928?lpid=82

    Amp: http://www.crutchfield.com/S-D6Rj18HCZI1/p_136HD6004/JL-Audio-HD-Series-HD600-4.html

Ofcourse I am not paying for this stuff though... We have it siting around as my uncle is not using them to compete anymore right now  its a crap ton of money into speakers but the sound quality will be absolutely unforgettable... So crisp and clean sounding it'll blow your mind! And it will sound like you are at a concert for whatever band you are listening to!

So I went to Westminster Speed and Sound today after my 50k service and car wash... Probably a mistake lol. So I have expanded my speaker search.

    I was thinking about these:

    http://www.alpine-usa.com/product/view/spr-60c/default

    Now I'm looking at these:

    http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/default_en.htm

I got to here a small Alpine (Not Type R) at Best Buy it was pretty good, but then today I heard the Hertz and it sounded like I was at a concert next to the stage. I'm looking at the technical stats and its been so long that I'm way to rusty to choose on my own. The Hertz are on Sale for $264 (Pair) until the end of the month. While Alpine is on Amazon for $150 (Pair). I eventually plan on changing out the head unit once they make a 4G/LTE 8" Tablet by Samsung to use at the screen in the dash. I don't plan on a Sub so the speakers have to be the bread and butter of this. I listen to all types of music across the board from Dubstep to Reggae and even Jazz.

So I guess my question is how do they compare stat wise from the people still in the audio Scene.
