Good tire for 70% road 30% trail.

Hey guys,
I do a lot of traveling with my truck (mostly highway) and I am going to do a 2 or 3 inch lift. I am looking for a good 70/30 tire with a decent wear. What tires do you guys run.

Any all terrain would work

 

I am in the same boat as you.... my top option is the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10 265/75R16 which weighs in at 39.1lbs or the Goodyear Wrangler All-Terrain Adventure with kevlar 265/75R16 which weighs 41.9lbs

 

Ditto for Hankook RF10s in that size P-metric. Pair it with a lightweight wheel and you can actually gain 0.5-1 mpg on the highway.

 

i have the dynapros and i really like them. all i used to buy was toyo but times got tough and went with the kooks and I like them. they get great grip in all situations and have a ton of tread left after 30k. the only terrain i havent put them trough is sand. but dirt mud and snow and they are awesome. Ill probably go back to toyo's but ill always fall back on the kooks if need be. only thing is i notice a little road noise at highway speeds.

 

Toyo AT II is what I run I absolutely love them they worked great

 

Cooper AT3 or the STT Max .. very good tyre.... On road and on some decent trails...

 

I'm running Toyo MT's 285/75/17 and have over 30k on em. Mostly highway. Still look almost brand new!

 

Check out Nittos. Great tires that wont bust your wallet as much as some others.

 

I a running Cooper ATP's 265/75/16's from Discount tire on my 4X4 off road. I am like you as I drive about 70% road and 30% off road. I just went 4 wheeling today and they did fantastic. I am pretty happy with them so far but I only have about 1000 on them. Reviews from other members are pretty +, that is why I decided to give them a try.

What's the Tacoma World consensus on General Grabbers AT2?

 

I run Nitto's and other than a little road noise they do a great job in all conditions and a lot cheaper.

 

Personally i like the at2s but i think they wear fast. On my last truck, a f150, i had 3 sets on and the truck loved them. Snow and mud werent ever a issue but they tended to wear out a little fast but they were so much cheaper then comparable tires. Also had a set of hankook atms and for whatever reason that truck needed to be in 4wd alot more. Could have been the open rear.

 

I'm running the DynaPro ATM and so far I like them a lot. I have about 10K on them and they still look great. They seem to bite in on soft soil pretty good and
do good job of clearing the tread.

My only complaint is that the tread seems to suck up the gravel on the gravel roads. If you run wider tires your paint could take a beating. They seem to really
sling the gravel out at about 50 mph or so.
I guess this holds true with a lot of other tires too. So I can live with it.

Sometimes I jump out of the truck when I get back on the pavement and dig the gravel out of the treads.

I would defiantly recommend these tires so far.

This is what i'm running in 265/75/16 on koing countersteer wheels. I love my set up. They are awesome in the snow. I mostly drive paved with snow in the winter and the occasional dirt roads.

OP, my vote is for Hankook ATM's.

 

I wanted Nitto Trail Grapplers, but just found out today that there is a nationwide backorder on them. Guess I'm going with Duratracs. So sad....
