Good to hear you are getting some rain. I finally got some last week.... Columbia had been pounded by rain a dozen times and all I got was a few drops. :woot: for getting rain when it's needed.

    how was the trip?

 Long day yesterday and I wake up at 4:30am, what is up with that anyway? Oh well, at least none of the big rainstorms hit here yesterday.

Filled up the Tacoma for the third time yesterday. I track MPG's, and I'm consistently getting 21MPG in mixed driving with plenty of A/C and a fair bit of 4wd (hard surfaces, I use it in the rain). That is better than I was expecting by about 3MPG.

Wake up hours ... working nights, my hours are so jacked up, I won't even try to comment.

I average 20 MPG pretty consistently (19.5 to 20.5) ever since I switched to LT rated All Terrain Summer tires. I run P rated Blizzaks in the Winter. I dip down to about 17 MPG when towing duties are on the tank (80-100 miles worth); if I ran the full tank towing I'd probably be around 15 MPG. Before I switched to the LT All Terrains, I average 22 MPG on highway tread Summer tires. Got 23.5 once, never saw 24. FWIW

 Morning Ken .... and all the Cool Old Dudes + Susan. :)

EDIT: Oh yeah, I still loves me Tacoma too. :D

    Morning all:
Locked myself out of the house this morning-AGAIN! :annoyed:Thank goodness for the spare key that I keep outside.

I always keep track of gas mileage, in the winter I will drop as much as 2-3 mpg. I ran Exxon for quite awhile, then Sunoco. Recently started running Gulf, and the gas mileage went up about 1 1/2 mpg. Last three calculations were--22.9 mpg, 23.1 mpg, and 25 mpg. (4 cyl.) The last one included a short trip to pick up some small parts for the furnace.
Looks like I will be running gulf for awhile!

I noticed that it's pretty locked up when engaged. I use it on wet roads, the truck will hardly pull out from a stoplight without it. I don't notice any binding, do you think it still might be harmful in those cases? I disengage back to 2WD to do parking lots and other tight, low speed moves.

FWIW, I wondered about the tires when I read the post as well. I have the issue on snow and ice at intersections or on ramps in Winter occasionally, but I don't recall ever having a problem on wet roads or in rainy conditions.

    Afternoon all:
If you have the original "dunflops" on, they aren't the best for traction. Wet roads may not provide enough slippage to "unload" the driveline, I don't think I would want to run it too far or too fast in 4-wd. on just wet roads. Stoplights can be really bad because of all the fluids that have accumulated there.

:( Hershey candy just went up 8%; looks like I won't be buying as many "KISSES" as I did before! (Govt. says there's no inflation though)

USDA looking to reward healthy food stamp shoppers W/ MOVIE TICKETS! WTF ??????

Still hearing on the news about more and more money that's needed for this and that. :bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket::bucket:
    WE'RE IN TROUBLE!!!

OH GREAT!!!!!! The younger generation thinks "SOCIALISM" is OK! :smack:, :tinfoilhat:, :help:.
That generation is known as millennials'; I can think of a better name for them-A------S!!!!
    We're definitely in trouble !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
