Yeah since gpa actually means something in engineering. Almost any idiot can get an engineering degree, but to do it with a decent gpa is difficult to say the least.

Most places require a 3.0 or better which is pretty freakin good.

 

Which then doesn't matter as soon as you get experience. My gpa could have been better but it's done and over with, I have a good job and getting good experience. I will say take a job if you get offered, cause holding out to hopefully hear back from others isn't that promising.

 

Man.. 50k pay cut.. Bob needs to start paying you guys better

 

Our office has 2 engineering openings... 2 guys have quit this summer since I've been here. I'm only an intern and I've been here longer than half the group since I was here last year too

 

I'm really hoping that in a couple/few years when I graduate that everything for the natural gas pipeline will be all ironed out and I can get a job with one of the big oil companies back in Ak. Although even now without the gas line, they're still almost always looking for more engineers here.

The companies know that you have little to no experience, it's nt like it's anything new. What they are looking at more is your personality and problem solving

Now Boeing, that's quite a gig that's gonna look good on a résumé

 

An now finally after a week on the job, I have most of my clearances and have actually started doing my job that I was hired to do. Progress!

That is horribly frustrating. I at least had stuff to do to be productive.

That's just miserable.

 

Hated that about my last job. I was so bored for months that I ran out of stuff to look at on the internet.

 

Union plant? We're the same way I can't touch anything out on the floor.


In other news I just saw in the news that an old teacher I had is on trial for murdering his wife... He smashed her head in with a rock and pushed her off a cliff. Maybe I shouldn't have been so mouthy

Haha after working at one I agree with you. It doesn't affect much of what I do day to day but I definitely see the negatives of it at work.

 

I work with the unions at the plant but it's pretty easy going.

In other news, any issue with an inflatable boat for fishing?

 

I'm at Texas A&M and you'll get kicked out of the Engineering Program if you don't maintain a 3.0 GPA. It sucks during school, but it will help in the future when applying for jobs.

Everytime I call GoPro I get put on wait and it tells me how many people are in front of me and how long the wait time is. For some reason, as the number of people lower, the wait time always goes up
