This is going to have terrible punctuation but I really don't care here's the issue.

I have a 2008 dbl cab supercharged 6" fabtec lift tires and rims and the infamous front vibration problem the ECGS package did not fix my vibration issue at all and the piece just grenaded on me and the lift/vibration ruined the bushings on my steering rack all 3 mechanics I have visited have told me the lift won't allow for a proper wheel alignment and I need a whole new lift if I want to adjust these issues with this new lift I need traction bars because I've already snapped 2 [IMG]spring leafes due to axel wrap the total for the pro comp 6" with adjustable cambers and traction bars and install is $5k the pro comp will add an extra inch of drop to the diff.

I'm paying another 5 grand to have the truck how it already is but without constant mechanical issues I just want to ditch the whole truck wtf should I do guys I love the thing but this shit is getting ridiculous...

Go down to a 3 inch lift with 285/75/16. Looks much better and is actually useful.

Take the recommended advice given by your 3 mechanics and get rid of the 6" lift.

Well you won the run-on sentence award for the day...

Anyway, you did this to your truck, don't hate it now. Go back to stock or near stock and enjoy the wonderful ride Toyota provided for you when the truck was new.

Go back to stock as all others have said. Only D-Bags have 5" or more of lift.

I am no mechanic but I have put in the bilstien 5100's in for a 2.5" lift and I am well satisfied with capabilities. I spend a solid 25,000km a year in the bush (hunting/fishing/exploring) and have yet to see a quad trail I haven't been able to negotiate. i think the 6" lift looks bad ass but doesn't really give you anything more in the way of normal 4x4 use. with the new bumper I will need to go to a better spring I think but that's about it. I do have a small vibration at 12-20km/hr but after a couple years now I don't notice it. And I still had no problems putting in 265/75/17 cooper stt tires in with little rubbing (fixed with some trimming) I LOVE my truck and anyone that's come out with me says is the smoothest off-road driving they've seen/felt. hope that helps with the downgrade ;)

Take some responsibility here. You did this to your truck. Just because something "bolts-on" doesn't mean it will work. Tuning requires research, time and money. If you can't do the time don't do the crime.

DB lifts suck. Always have and always will.

Put function before form for everything you do in life and you will be a much happier man. Putting form before function is like a ugly chick putting on a ton of makeup to hide herself. In the end when it rains and all that shit comes off she's still but ugly.....just like a DB lift.

My vote is the 2.5"-3" lift. I love mine and have no issues... so far anyways

First month of ownership... This month I'm removing front air dam, and also Rhino lining the bed.
Anything over 3" lift will exceed design/engineering capabilities of the truck.

You can do a successful 6" lift but it will be complicated and expensive on a 4x4 Tacoma. Would be much easier on a Prerunner.

Anyway, you have already started/invested in it so maybe invest in the component s needed to make it work? Or take it off and sell it.

I'd personally do a solid front axle conversion if I was going to do a 6" lift. And you will have geometry/angle issues to solve with stwering and drive train.

Honestly Tacomas were not designed for that much lift.

An F150 or Chevy might be a better platform for you to attain a "show truck" lift?

Fucking hell that was hard to read. I know you warned us but how hard is it to type a period and a capital letter after said period?

Lot of 6" lift haters here.

I'm betting you incorrectly diagnosed your vibration the first time. The ECGS bushing addresses a fairly minor vibration. Something else completely different was probably wrong and causing your vibrations. I say this since the bushing didn't fix it, and the vibration was apparently quite severe.

For something to have "grenaded" - and the steering rack bushing to have failed... I'm not convinced your original lift was installed correctly. I've not used either 6" lift - fabtech or procomp. But most folks on TW seem to think that they're of about equal quality as drop-bracket lifts go.

Also, - a lot of mechanics don't know how to work on a modified truck.

Who originally installed the lift? Post up a picture of the drop bracket front end.

I would believe that a 3.5" lift block in the back gave you hella axle wrap and you cracked a leaf spring - especially with a supercharger. You probably need a differnt leaf pack in the back.

    Yeah.
Wow dude that really sucks maybe those 3 mechanics are right or I dunno maybe not never heard of putting traction bars on that is a new one to me but heck it is not that old you gotta do something maybe just put it back to stock or go with a smaller lift like everyone says these are great trucks so ditching it seems a waste but maybe you could start over with a new one.

You are correct on the punctuation, does not bother me.
I would say get rid of the 6" lift.
