Lucky! TFT blew off a Tire Rack price match back when I had my SVTF and then proceeded to wreck my wheels, claiming the good old 'we didn't do that' when I pointed it out... Then charged me a restocking fee when they sold me the wrong size even though I told them the size they were going to sell me would rub. Then fucked up my alignment and messed up my alignment bolts. Fun times with TFT.

I realize that was just one location though. Could be different story elsewhere.

Shame on you, Mike. You know how susceptible the elderly are to the flu; getting soaking wet is just tempting fate!

Aren't you always talking about the dry enclosed space that your wagon provides?
This is an ideal time to brag about that. You're blowing the opportunity, man!

I've had similar experiences with them as well. I was turned away from rotating tires in Shrewsbury, scratched a wheel in Milford and told they fixed a flat in Woonsocket that never was touched as well as other problems. I will never go back to Town Fair Tire, I have given them too many chances. I wish someone else with a halfway decent price would come into the area. Where are you Discount Tire? Ahhhh

    See? Already caught a chill.
Sounds like you need some brandy and a blanket in front of the TV for the rest of the day, Bill!

Why not just do it in the morning? Looks like it should be dry by then?

So put it in a garbage bag. Easy peasy.

Also good idea. Or just open up the hatch and back as close to the front door as possible.

Everything in my BOB and my GHB is stuffed into a pair of heavy-duty trash bags. Just as waterproof as the super-specialized backpack liners, and a hell of a lot cheaper.

GL. Denis, John and I went snow wheeling with a guy from NTC one time that had those tires. He was all over the place as none of us on the Duratrac's had any trouble at all. It's not all about price

True. I think it also depends on width. The wider grabber at2's, bfg at ko(265, 285's), etc... don't meet the severe snow service rating thing. They also have less siping for more offroad durability as opposed to the narrower models (i.e. 10.5 width), at least the BFG's do and I think the grabbers are the same

Overall the Grabber AT2's have very good reviews for winter/ice traction. I think a lot of the complaints are from guys running wide tires that aren't severe snow service rated.

I guess I will find out. I wasn't going to get rid of my current GY's either. So worst comes to worst i'll throw those back on in the winter.

I'd be willing to bet that the wider tires are the same tire but General and BFG just haven't paid to put the wider tires through the proper testing to get them severe weather rated.

I'd have to dig it up, but I found somewhere that on the BFG's they don't have the amount of siping on the 265/ 285's that other sizes do to make them more durable/less susceptible to chunking for offroad use. Less siping would certainly lead to worse winter traction. I'd assume the grabbers are the same since they are the same tire with wider voids and newer tread compound.
