You're going to need A LOT more metal than that.

Don't run it the way if you have it in the pictures, you'll likely crack your windshield.

1/4" I can't imagine why you'd need em THAT thick?? Other than being overkill it's gonna really cause you problems in trying to get that moulding back down..
