    X2, I went back to see some family and nearly died.

    Man, they are worse than I previously thought. That is a HUGE amount of slop in both the ITR and the rack shaft. An OEM rack will not be that loose with the guide removed entirely.
    Can't say I never expressed my feeling about Chinese knock off front end stuff. The other issue is the remans most likely use the same parts.

    Play with guide removed.

    ANY lifted 1st gen with stock upper arms can use all the caster it can get. It is safe to tell the alignment shop that's what you want.

    Well I'll find out this weekend. 750 miles of highway driving.

    But it'll be hard to tell. Between the steering rack I have, worn out bushings and a non-tack welded steering shaft... keeping my truck straight on the highway has never happened since 1999.

    With, as you inferred, a rack problem and loose steering column, there should have been some kind of feedback. Maybe there was, I wasn't there.

    Ordered up a new set of tires. Got Town Fair Tire to price match Tire Rack on a set of general grabber at2's @$130/ tire for 31x10.5R15. Wanted 33x10.5R15, but not a big fan of the BFG AT's, and KM2's are not an option for the winters around here. At that price for the grabbers i'll just find another beat up set of 15" alloys on CL and a set of 33x10.5 KM2's off a heep and use that for offroading, and have the grabbers for daily driving and light wheeling duty.
