After a couple of emails I received this if anyone is interested......
Sure would be nice to have the temp.

The problem is that we have had no demand for Toyota parameters and as such have not created a preprogrammed version for 2008+ Toyotas. * However, we do have some untested Toyota codes which may or may not access parameters in your Tacoma. *If the parameters are available in your Tacoma, then UG MX should be able to access them. *However, this will require some trial and error on your part and working with UG support. * If you can find posts on Forums from other 2010 Tacoma owners who have accessed parameters using Scangauge Xgauge, then UG can access these parameters also.

EDIT I was asked to provide this as a fix.

That is good to know. Keep us updated as that is the only gauge that I would like that isn't included with the UG. I love it otherwise.

Might be a good time to increase the demand for Toyota parameters and get this changed. I have thought about getting one of these also but would want the tranny temp for when I am towing

Scanguage will UG wont. That was the only thing missing on the UG but IIRC The Scanguage costs a lot more. Since I don't tow anymore (even though I've got a tow package) it wasn't a deal breaker for me. But I'm like you and would like to have that gauge.

If I had an auto I would want a temp gauge as well. Even not towing.

Oh I agree. I would like to have it but it wasn't worth twice the price for me. I have no reason for a EGT Gauge since I don't tow. When I had a Cummins I had a Bully Dog Programmer on it so I needed a EGT Gauge. With the Tacoma... pretty sure I don't. As long as the engine is operating at 186-188* I know it's in perfect operating temperature.

Plus I like where I have it mounted.

Quick glance up and all my info is right there.

FYI you can get trans pan temp and torque converter output temp from the elm327 Bluetooth adaptor and the torque app on android with a custom pid. Works like a charm on my phone.

I'm planning to get an UG soon and would really like a trans temp option as well. I know it's an option on the SG but looking at the two, the UG looks like it would be easier for me to read at a glance with my aging eyes. I don't tow very often either, but I often make long runs down the beach, for many miles, and soft sand bogging down your speed will heat an AT up pretty quick. I know how to combat the heat by gear choice etc, but it sure would be nice to have a temp gauge to look at ever so often.

Im currently working with a rep from Ultra-gauge helping me with trans temp coding for the Ultra-Gauge MX.

I have given them the scangauge code, and now Ill be giving them the torque codes.

    anybody else make headway?

If they get the transmission temp figured, I'll buy an ultragauge for sure. Hope it happens.

IIRC it was said that the ultragauge has ALWAYS been able to access these parameters they call "M gauges" like scangauges "x gauges".

They just chose to "lock" this feature because it may confuse more owners than it benefitted.

So, with a reflash, I bet things would work for older models, but I am not 100% sure.

If not, the MX is "unlocked" and is what I am using for us.
