    Hello new to this i have a turboed 2010 tacoma was thinking about putting an inline pump to try and boost my pressure is this a waste of time or just replace the stock one. Also is there any good tuning out there that would help me so far the stock electronics it runs great, any help or advise would be great thanks

    already tried a bully dog GTT tuner but they cant send me the supercharger program

    I made the kit i mostly do diesel performance and alot of snowmobiles ,lots of tinkering like that i really dont want to post pics yet. sorry I made 50 horse with stock electronics just wanting a little more or see what other option i have. Even played around with the fuel pressure that didnt seem to help that much.

    Bully Dog won't have a tune for a turbo kit. There aren't remotely enough 2nd Gen Tacomas with turbo kits .

    So are you trying to gain extra fueling with more pressure? I am not thoroughly understanding your first post.

    If that is the case, then you could route a vacuum/boost hose to the FPR. That will give you a decent 1:1 rising fuel pressure with boost.

    Otherwise, I sincerely suggest upgrading the in tank fuel pump. As the kits available will get rid of the OEM non replaceable in tank filter, with an external replaceable filter.

    And do the FPR mod with that.

    There are other tuning options available, but they are also wire in, for your year model.

    Well i have already done that with the fuel pressure regulator i was just hoping to get a little more adjustment and some people are saying replace the pump in the tank. I do this stuff on fuel injection snowmobiles and we add a walbro pump and keep the stock one and it helps because the stock pump runs out but we run a lot of boost on them. Im running 7 pounds now hoping to keep it simple. The truck runs in the 10s on the air fuel ratio gauge when i get on it hard, Im sure the truck is sensing more air and fueling it. like i said the truck runs well with just stock tuning I have a 1000 miles on it with the turbo was hoping the bully dog programmer would work but i have to have my ecm reflashed by the dealer for a supercharger then it will work but I don't thing they can .

    The stock pump cannot handle much higher than 280 - 300 whp well. Increasing the fuel pressure like you have done, helps to get that little extra fueling, but it also diminishes the stock pump's output.

    Best recommendation I can give you, and I have a lot of experience on this vehicle, is to upgrade the internal pump.

    Then you can add an adjustable FPR and increase the base fuel pressure to your liking, pre boost reference.

    The s/c reflash will work, and gives your ecu the ability to run a larger injector. As long as you buy/install that injector. We did that on my friend's turbo Tacoma. It only stayed a little lean in the launch, if he tried to drag race.

    Hey Tor, I upgraded to the URD Walbro 255. I also am planning on upgrading my injectors to the URD 61lbs and swapping from my 2.7" pulley (8 psi at WOT) to a 2.55". Doing this because I,m running way too rich with the FPR mod and so want to go the bigger injector route. Do you think the Walbro is sufficient to handle the new injectors and flow demands to support about 10 psi boost?

    Oh yeah. That 255Lph is more than sufficient for your goals. The FPR mod will definitely be needed for the 2.55 pulley. Might be ok with out the FPR mod, for the 2.7. You should try swapping it back to factory and see how it works, before going to the 2.55.

    Also, what are you planning on using to control the larger injectors? I see you have a 2014.

    Thanks Tor and Vassily.

    Long story short, i only had the URD fuel pump upgrade and the TRD reflash when I swapped to the 2.7". I followed Tor's advice and made sure I installed a wideband first and good thing since my AFRs at WOT were in the low to mid 12s :eek:

    I immediately installed the OEM FPR mod but then my AFRs were pegged at 10 during WOT

    Decided I needed some better control over fuel and timing so had a MAPECU3 from Gadget installed last week and had the truck dyno and street tuned.

    Sooooo close to 300 rwhp! Was a hot day, but what I really think killed my power was the engine drowning in fuel at WOT.

    So to get over the "hump" (I HOPE), gonna install larger injectors, reverse the FPR Mod, install a 2.55" and get a new tune.

    Do you guys think this is the best approach to eke out the most power? Was also thinking of some methanol injector for cooling since the 2.55" will create some heat!

    What AFR's are you running since the tune, in boost? With the Map-Ecu3, the tuner should be able to get the AFR's between 11.1 - 11.5, with or without the FPR mod. That in itself should give you a nice bump in power, if it is still to rich?
