Plenty of guys on here have bought used DB kits and pieced together their own. If you are dead set on a DB, its the way to go...You can save money and tailor your set up to be "ideal" for a DB. my68urtrd did so. Search for his build.

You'll just need the bracket and hardware, coil overs and rear leafs. Extended brake lines and carrier bearing spacer/drop.

Now...I say just go mid travel 3" lift and be done with it! You'll thank us...well some of us. The mall crawlers may have a different opinion though.

Makes sense. But the starting point is a complete drop bracket and hardware - that's the essential set of pieces to which you can then add coilovers and springs and shocks of choice.

Above, what was being sold used was just some old coilovers. You wouldn't need or necessarily want those, and you'd still need to keep looking for a used drop-bracket.

@Bjmoose and AaronArf, I appreciate the time to answer my questions and useful information guys! Just as I imagined, it just seemed to be too much of a hassle and easier to just go the complete kits. Back to saving!

@Scarlett4x4, thanks for the effort. Haha. :D ;)

If you want to upgrade your front shocks tothe longer bilsteins and eliminate your stocks shocks / spacer you can get the Bilstein f4-be5-e122. They used on the rcd kit and I run them on mine with a 1/2 top plate spacer.

Those are just the same as 5100's correct? My plan is to run 5100's on the .85 (second notch) and the spacer of course until coilovers. Dont see how you could get away without running a decent sized spacer. Even at the highest setting you'll gain 2.5" plus a spacer still?

Actually man, I have answered the shit out of this question in this very thread. So if you search a little you will find a ton of answers. I even have a thread out there that I created around taking apart my Tacoma that came with a DB, spending a small fortune and turning it into a very functional MT setup while retaining the PC snow plow under my motor.
Dig a little bit more and you will find the way. (Hint: 3" MT or LT setup)

    Good luck!

Ha, I'm not doubting that you haven't, after seeing the thread I posted I hard figured I was going to get a similar response next. I should have searched alittle more. I came across that thread by accident. But truly, no disrespect from my post to you, I was messing with you. I do appreciate all the help I get on here. ;)
